Tossing Salt Presents:
Impact Wrestling Under Siege 2023
Thoughts & Predictions
May 26, 2023
DougMaynard.com
Tonight, live on FITE, Impact +, and YouTube, from London, Ontario, Canada is Impact Wrestling’s Under Siege PPV. And you know what that means, right? Time to break out the crystal ball and make a few predictions. It’s a big weekend for pro wrestling and pay-per-views. And it all starts now. Let’s do this.
Impact World Championship No DQ Match:
Steve Maclin vs. PCO
While PCO is a great veteran and as tough as they come, we’ve only just begun with Maclin having his time as the Impact Champion. It’s too soon to switch the title.
Winner and STILL Impact Wrestling Champion: Steve Maclin
Impact Knockouts World Championship Match:
Deonna Purrazzo vs. Jordynne Grace
These two women have gone round and round so many times and Deonna always seems to find a way to come out on top, but I think that maybe her luck has finally begun to run out. Grace has transformed herself over the past couple of years into a sculpted warrior and it’s time that all the hard work finally pays off.
NEW Impact Knockouts Champion: Jordynne Grace
Impact X-Division Championship Match:
Trey Miguel vs. Chris Sabin
I learned a long time ago to never bet against Trey Miguel when the X-Division Championship is involved. Chris Sabin is a damn good wrestler and talented performer, but he’s not winning anything tonight.
Winner and STILL X-Division Champion: Trey Miguel
Six-Way Impact World Championship #1 Contenders Scramble Match:
Moose vs. Eddie Edwards vs. Jonathan Gresham vs. Yuya Uemura vs. Frankie Kazarian vs. Alex Shelley
I’m not sure exactly what a “Scramble Match” is supposed to be, but I guess it’s as good a way to establish a new top contender as anything else. Both Moose and Jonathan Gresham have had title shots and runs over the past year so we’ll eliminate them from the running to win here. I just don’t really get Edwards and I’ve never heard of Uemura so we’ll take them out of possible victory as well. So Kazarian or Shelley? I’d love to see Alex win and go after the Impact Wrestling Championship, but something in my memory seems to recall Kazarian is due for a strong push. Let’s go with Frankie.
Winner and NEW #1 Contender for the Impact Wrestling Championship: Frankie Kazarian
Trinity vs. Gisele Shaw
This is Trinity’s debut PPV match for Impact Wrestling so there is no way she’s losing as of yet, especially not to Rick Steiner’s favorite wrestler. Trinity with the booty to the face to pick up an easy win.
Winner: Trinity
Nick Aldis vs. Kenny King
Nick is a former multi-time NWA World Champion. Kenny King is best known for being part of a tag team in ROH. Who do you think is going to win? You’re right.
Winner: Nick Aldis
Sami Callihan, Rich Swann and TBA vs. The Design (Big Kon, Deaner, Alan Angel)
I don’t know who Sami and Swann have as their partner, but The Design has Alan Angel on the team and he’s part of the VLOG crew, so of course, that means that the heel team has designs on winning… and they should. A in the chats for Alan.
Winners: The Design (Big Kon, Deaner & Alan Angel).
Impact Knockouts Tag Team Championship Match:
The Coven vs. Courtney Rush & Jessicka
The Coven just won the belts last month so it’s too soon for a title switch here.
Winners and STILL Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champions: The Coven
Impact Digital Media Championship Match:
Joe Hendry vs. Dirty Dango
I like Hendry, but I’m also a big fan of Dirty Dango, aka The Artist formerly known as Fandango. I even own a Breezango t-shirt in my closet. This should be one hell of a dance, but I think the results are totally clear.
Winner and NEW Impact Digital Media Champion: Dirty Dango
And there you go. Those are my predictions for what looks to be a great night of wrestling for Impact Wrestling and the first of four epic events taking place this weekend. So am I right? Am I wrong? Let me know in the comments along with any thoughts or questions you may have. And with that, I’m out of here. Thanks for reading. Take care and be well, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
