It’s Sunday morning and I’m playing catch-up today. I’m Doug, your Guiding Light and party host. This is the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s roll.

Mike Jones, better known as Virgil, passed away today. Thoughts and memories of the former Million Dollar Champion.

Based on recent years, my main thoughts of Virgil go to the pictures of Vigil sitting alone at a table, doing a signing and no fans are to be seen, and stories about Meat Sauce, but the man was a hustler and a hoss. No doubt about that. Vigil as the sidekick of the Million Dollar Man, Ted DiBiase, was classic WWF storytelling and an angle that no one will ever forget. And then runs in WCW as Vincent, and then Curley Joe. Virgil was never the main guy, but no one stood out and was more noticeable in every scene or situation. One of the most memorable characters in professional wrestling. RIP Mr. Jones. You will be missed.

Is Floyd Mayweather the greatest boxer of all time?

I guess that I got this question because of Mayweather’s involvement at Wrestlemania in that program with the Big Show so many years ago. Is Mayweather the greatest boxer of all time? He doesn’t have half the charisma of the late Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson could lay him out in one round if Floyd wasn’t always trying to run away in his fights. So is Mayweather the greatest boxer of all time? Not even close.

Would you ever get a Tony Khan tattoo?

No, I think so. When I finally get a wrestling-themed tattoo, and it’s coming, it will have something to do with the greatest wrestling faction of all time, The Four Horsemen. Now if Tony wants to pay me a cool million in cash, I might consider a Tony Khan tattoo on my leg or something, but aside from that, it would never happen.

Rhea Ripley versus Awesome Kong. Who wins?

Remember how awesome Kong, no pun intended, was during her prime days in TNA against Gail Kim? The woman was indeed a true beast and I mean that in the best of ways. She was damn good. And Rhea? There’s a reason why Mami is always on top and has been for the past year. This match would be either off the charts or a total disaster. I’m betting on the first one. My gut says that Kong should win, but just barely, so let’s go with that. The winner would be Awesome Kong.

Do you miss MJF on AEW television?

I don’t watch enough of AEW television to miss anyone really, but yes, his absence is felt. Not the comedy garbage that prevailed so strongly over the past few months before his “injuries”, but the trash-talking, never break character, heel MJF. That dude was awesome.

It’s being reported by Uncle Dave & Bryan Alvarez from WON that Tama Tonga from NJPW has Signed with the WWE. If this is true, what brand (RAW or Smackdown) would you want to see Tama wrestle for?

If Tonga is to be part of the WWE, he should be on Smackdown with the rest of the Bloodline family.

Would you like to see Dominik Mysterio challenge Gunther for the Intercontinental Champion at Wrestlemania?

I’d love to see it, but it would be brutal to watch. Dom’s character would be slaughtered by Gunther from bell to bell. Dom could cheat and maybe have some outside help from JD to keep it from being a total massacre, but he would take a legit beating for sure. Now if this was to set things up for a post-match beatdown on Gunther by The Judgment Day, leading to Damian Priest taking advantage of Dom’s sacrifice and cashing in the MITB contract to win the Intercontinental Championship, I could see it happening and yes, I would pop big time.

Besides “brother” Gene, who was Ole Anderson’s best tag team partner?

People forget that Ole was an amazing tag team wrestler and won gold with many other wrestlers at his side besides Gene. He teamed up with his ‘brother’ Lars, Ray Stevens, Stan Hansen, Thunderbolt Patterson, Bill Watts, Ox Baker, Ron Garvin, and Paulie Anderson. And with every single one of these partners, he held Championship gold. But the best of all? It’s not a hard choice. It was the young Marty Lunde, aka Arn Anderson. Carrying on the tradition of the Minnesota Wrecking Crew, and as two of the original members of the legendary Four Horsemen, Ole and Arn were magic together and a truly formidable team.

Could EC3 have taken a role like John Cena in being a role model to younger fans?

He could have, but I think it would work better by being himself, EC3, than trying to emulate John Cena or anyone else.

Orange Cassidy (International Champion) versus Gunther (Intercontinental Champion). Who wins?

Cassidy is far better than he gets credit for, but Gunther? He’s not called the Ring General for no reason, right? Gunther wins.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Be sure to like, share, and subscribe. And with that, let’s wrap it up. Take care and be well and I’ll see you at the matches.
