Welcome to the show. It’s the only pro wrestling Q&A that matters. You have questions, and I have answers. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I’m Doug, your party host, guiding light, and the man with the best mullet since Billy Ray Cyrus. Are you ready? Let’s do this.
How would you rate Bryan Danielson as a commentator? Is this the right job for him, or would you rather have him in a different role for AEW?
Bryan Danielson, aka The American Dragon, is a legendary wrestler and iconic talent. He’s a definite Hall of Fame talent. But as a commentator, he’s not good. Even Excalibur does a better job of calling the moves and action. If AEW wants to use Danielson on TV, he is a former GM for WWE SmackDown. Put him in an authority role, or maybe even give him an interview segment like Dragon Tales or something of that nature. Sitting and calling the moves is not his thing. Listening to Danielson makes me wish they’d hire David Crockett instead. Yeah, it is that bad.
Samoa Joe defeated Eddie Kingston at AEW Winter is Coming. Who’s next?
Isn’t it about time for MJF to make a return? Max is the most likely option, in my opinion.
The Babes of Wrath are the inaugural AEW Women’s World Tag Team Champions. Thoughts?
Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale, aka The Babes of Wrath, defeated The Timeless Love Bombs at Winter’s Coming to win the tag team gold after what has been a very long tournament. Who comes up with these team names? They need to stop. Anyhow, congrats to the new Champions. So, are they going to use Harley’s puppet and use the Freebird rule in title defenses? We have champs. Yay!
Do you think Triple H has done a better job than Vince McMahon when it comes to women’s wrestling?
With Vince, it was three-minute matches and bikini-clad pudding matches. Triple H treats the women like the athletes and wrestlers they are, and the matches mean something. Hell, the women are often the best thing in WWE these days. Hunter definitely gets the kudos for the work and advancement of the women’s wrestlers.
Do you think Logan Paul belongs in WWE?
Like him or hate him, Logan Paul has done an excellent job since joining the WWE. He has worked his ass off and become a top-notch heel. He totally belongs in WWE.
Should Raj Dhesi have the rights to the Maharaja name, or did WWE own it the moment they put it on TV?
If the former Jinder Mahal used the name before he joined WWE, as he claims, he certainly deserves the rights to the nickname. And hell, even if he didn’t, what is WWE going to use it for? WWE doesn’t use the name or need it, so let Jinder have it already. Bring him in for a one-shot with Drew, and pay him off with the rights to the name. Jinder deserves it more than a filing cabinet collecting dust in Stamford.
Mark Henry versus Ken Patera. Who wins?
Both men have been called The World’s Strongest Man at some point in their careers, and both men legit earned the title in some manner. MarkHenry eventually became a decent power-based wrestler and a huge star for WWE. Patera was trained by Verne Gagne and worked the territories, the AWA, the WWF, and all across the world. Based on the level of their experience and the quality of talent they each defeated over the years, I think the edge goes to Patera. Ken Patera would win.
Describe Roman Reigns in one word.
Acknowledgment.
Would you like to see Jim Cornette do an interview with Chris Van Vliet?
Van Vliet has the personality and interview style that I think Cornette would really enjoy talking to and doing an interview with. I know that Cornette rarely leaves the Castle anymore and does very little outside of his podcast and Cornette Collectibles, but with his new book, Heroes and Friends, which is available at JimCornette.com, I’m surprised Cornette didn’t schedule a few interviews or appearances with some media. Van Vliet would most likely come to his house to do an interview, and I’m sure that Ariel Helwani would love to speak to Jim as well. It would be a great promotion for the book and great publicity for the podcasts as well. Maybe one day, we’ll luck up, and Jim will come out and play for a bit. One can only hope.
