Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE TLC Thoughts & Predictions
October 20, 2017
Earlier today, I was planning on doing my predictions for the WWE TLC pay-per-view event coming up on Sunday before I went to work, but something told me to hold up a bit and wait until tonight. Well mainly I decided to wait because I was running late in getting ready for work and had a couple of stops I needed to make on the way to work and just didn’t have the time, but whatever the reason, I decided to wait. I’m glad I did. Breaking news today that due to medical reasons, a suspected contagious illness that has affected four WWE Superstars, some of the matches have been changed. New people involved in two of the matches so my original thoughts and predictions would have been worthless. Prayers and best wishes to Bray Wyatt, Bo Dallas, JoJo and Roman Reigns. Hurry and get well and come back to RAW soon. And now, with changes in place, let’s do the thoughts and predictions for the big WWE show coming up on Sunday night.
Alicia Fox versus Sasha Banks (Kick-Off Show)
Alicia can really do some fun stuff in that ring when given the chance and no one plays unpredictable or crazy better than the “Foxy One”. Alicia and Sasha have developed a small rivalry over the past two weeks and all of their matches though, have ended up the same way with Alicia being forced to tap out to Sasha and her “Bank Statement”. Will this match end the same way and leave Sasha standing strong at 3-0? I think that we’ll see a few shenanigans and some “crazy like a fox” tactics from the former Bella team-mate. I think Sasha will look great and control most of the match, but Alicia will find her spot and snatch a victory from the jaws of defeat. She has to win at least one match, right?
Winner: Alicia Fox
The Brian Kendrick and Jack Gallagher vs. Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann
The rest of the men and women on the roster had better be careful because I have a strong feeling that these guys will try their best to steal the show and put on the match of the night. It’ll be this match or the Balor – AJ match, one or the other. I love how Kendrick has become a mentor of sorts, first with TJP and now with Gallagher, a move befitting of his senior status. Alexander and Swann are good, but I don’t see any kind of reason for them to be teaming except for the race thing and I don’t think that WWE would put together a team just because they’re both black guys, right? That would be racist and messed up. They have a reason for being a team. We just don’t know what it is. Anyhow, look for a helluva match and look for Alexander and Swann to win to keep the crowd happy and jakked.
Winner: Cedric Alexander & Rich Swann
Kalisto vs. Enzo Amore (WWE Cruiserweight Championship)
Enzo talks. Enzo cheats. Enzo is a certified G and we all know you can’t teach that. But Kalisto is the new Cruiserweight Champion and that means more on the food chain than all the catch-phrases in the world. I like watching Kalisto wrestle and perform, but I don’t want to see him as a champion. I liked Neville better. Too bad he decided to leave. I think we’re going to see a title change here.
Winner and NEW WWE Cruiserweight Champion: Enzo Amore
The Demon (Finn Balor) vs. AJ Styles (replacing Bray Wyatt)
A legitimate dream match, happening for the first time, between two former leaders of “The Club”. I really wasn’t looking too forward to watching Finn and Bray fight again. Their feud has been lackluster from the start and just has never done anything for me. But Balor and AJ have no issues, but personal pride and the desire to put on a great match. I think it will happen and they’ll shine like two stars in the sky. I don’t think we’ll have a clean finish here. Both men are too over to do the J.O.B. and there isn’t really any need. I’ll go with a double count-out, thus setting up a rematch at Survivior Series or maybe even Wrestlemania. I think this match might just be the beginning of something very good.
No Contest: Both Men Are Counted Out…
Asuka vs. Emma
If anyone bothers to look back at the history between these two women, they had a great match together at one of the NXT Takeover shows about a year or so ago and have a great chemistry. The results of the match is too easy. It’s Asuka’s main roster debut so she’ll win and win concincingly, but I think the match will be more competitive than anyone is expecting. Emma will come out looking great and Asuka will look like the dominating champion that she truly is.
Alexa Bliss vs. Mickie James (WWE Raw Women’s Championship)
I really want to see Mickie win. I really want to see Mickie win. I really want to see Mickie win. Guess who I think will end up winning? How does 7-time Women’s Champion sound? Works for me.
Winner and NEW RAW Women’s Champion: Mickie James
Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins & Kurt Angle (replacing Roman Reigns) vs. Braun Strowman, The Miz, Kane, Cesaro and Sheamus (TLC match)
With Kurt Angle returning to the ring and replacing Roman Reigns, this entire match has changed. The odds were stacked against the SHIELD to start off, but we all knew that the trio of Seth, Ambrose and Roman were not going to lose, no matter how many wrestlers they faced. But now, Roman is out and Kurt Angle is in, his first WWE match in 11 years. But Kurt is older, hasn’t wrestled regularly in a couple of years and is not used to teaming with Ambrose or Seth. Now they have an “out” to allow the Miz team to get the win and stay strong, but it also keeps the SHIELD strong even if they lose because it wasn’t the real Shield team. How about if Kane tries to cripple Angle and take his spot as the RAW GM? If it was the real Shield, they’d win and win strongly. But now that Kurt is the third man, look for the expanded Miztourage to take home that big win and stand tall at the end of the night.
Winners: Miz, Kane, Braun Strowman, Cesaro & Sheamus w/ Curtis Axel
And that’s how I think it will all go down. I might be right or I might be wrong. What do you think? What are your predictions? Reply in the comments and let me know. And now, time to go do some other stuff. I have a lot of work to do and not much time to do it. I hate it when this happens. Anyhow, take care and give me your feedback. Until the next time, take it light.
