Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
December 16, 2017
Are you ready for that music thing? We’ve got Eminem and Alice Cooper both here to be talked about today. I think I’ve died and gone to music heaven. The questions come from my friends over at 411mania.com/music. The rest of it, that’s me. Let’s do this…
You’re pleased with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees this year.
FACT: We’ve got Bon Jovi, the Dire Straits, the Moody Blues, the Cars and Nina Simone all getting inducted this year. Who can complain about a group like that? The only thing missing is the Real Roxanne, but I’ll get over it (for now). No complaints here.
‘Untouchable’ was a much better Eminem track than ‘Walk on Water’.
FACT: I hate it that Eminem is seeming to grovel here and join on the BLM / anti-Trump bandwagon, but let’s be honest. The “Untouchable” track is classic Eminem and awesome as hell. I don’t like necessarily some of the message it seems to put out there, but it’s a strong song and the lyrics and style is, to steal a catchphrase from the Miz, “AWESOME!”.
12 new songs make the deluxe edition of Chris Brown’s ‘Heartbreak on a Full Moon’ worth buying.
FICTION: Chris Brown is an over-rated, woman beating piece of crap. Maybe the songs are good and maybe not, but considering the source, I could care less. Next subject.
Alice Cooper is an odd choice for a live Jesus Christ Superstar musical.
FICTION: Alice is a great choice actually in that he can sing, is very theatrical, has a strong presence on stage, has great name recognition and can bring many new fans to watch the show that might otherwise not give it a second thought and has in the past, already played the role of Herod, so he already know what the role needs and what to do. Plus he’s Alice Cooper. If anyone was made to be the villain in this musical production, one of my all time favorites, no one is better.
The incident of Josh Homme kicking a photographer on stage will quickly blow over.
FACT: It pretty much already has blown over. Homme apologized and unless we get a lawsuit out of this and a long court battle, it’s old news already.
Jeff Gutt will do well as the new Stone Temple Pilots frontman.
FACT: He’s a good singer and front man and since STP wants to continue and keep going on, he’s as good a choice as any.
And there you go. I’m down and gone now. I have to leave for work in like three minutes. Have a great one and thanks for reading. Thoughts and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care.
