Music Fact or Fiction – January 13, 2018

Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
January13, 2018

Time is short and so was Danny. (Ex boyfriend joke) – Let’s do this. It’s the Fact or Fiction, music style. The statements come from my friends at I provide the rest of it. And away we go…

Dr. Dre’s Detox will never be released.

FACT: I’m sure that Dre has plenty of music in the vaults waiting to be released, but don’t look for Detox to be part of it. Dre has so much as said so himself. It’s dead, buried away and I doubt we’ll ever see it come out to the public.

Radiohead is right to sue Lana Del Rey over ‘Get Free’.

FACT: If Radiohead feels that they have a case and that “Get Free” is ripping off their stuff, go for it. Make them lawyers happy. Whatever floats the boat.

The video for Justin Timberlake’s ‘Filthy’ was fun.

FACT: Justin almost always has good and fun videos and this was no exception. I watched… twice and I enjoyed it. Good stuff from a master of the arts.

You enjoyed Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s “All the Stars.”

FACT: I didn’t think I would like it, but it’s a good solid tune with some great lyrics. Not bad at all.

Cardi B and Bruno Mars’ ‘Finesse’ remix was not as good as the original.

FACT: The remix was okay, but the original and the backing Micheal Jackson tracks were definitely better than Cardi B’s weak contributions. She didn’t help the song at all with her parts, but hurt it instead. Bruno doesn’t need the help on his music and definitely didn’t need it here.

Jack White’s “Connected by Love” was a solid return track.

FACT: Hell, I listened and liked it. Is it his best work? Nope. But it’s solid and has a charm to it and seems to me to be the kind of song that will grow on you each time you listen. Not too bad and a nice way to start that comeback by Mr. White.

And there you go. Short, but to the point and finished for the day. I’m down and gone. Thanks for reading and I’ll catch you on the flip side. Major updates coming to the site hopefully tonight or tomorrow. See you then.
