Wrestling Fact or Fiction – January 28, 2018

Tossing Salt Presents:
Wrestling Fact or Fiction
January 28, 2018

Good morning. It’s Royal Rumble Sunday. That’s for later tonight. Right now though, it’s time to do some of that Fact or Fiction thing, wrestling style. Let’s cut the chit-chat though and get jiggy with it. The questions come from 411mania.com/wrestling. The rest is just me. Whoop whoop! Let’s do this…

1. WWE looking to run Cena vs. Undertaker at WrestleMania is a few years too late.

FICTION: It’s Cena and Undertaker and it doesn’t matter if it’s 2008 or 2018, the Undertaker versus John Cena is a match that fans will watch and will enjoy. Maybe it would have been better to have done this match a decade ago, but what’s the old saying about better late than never. Taker’s physical condition is a bit suspect to be sure, but Cena is more than capable of carrying the Phenom to a passable match. Add a little smoke and mirrors and while it won’t be what it could have been, it should be good enough and create some memories and moments for the WWE crowd.

2. Monday’s Raw 25 show was an overall disappointing event.

FACT: It was okay, I guess, but the show didn’t live up to the hype by any means. Instead of using the guests and talents in creative ways, it was just either sit around the poker table with the APA or come out and wave. The matches were okay, but with all of the hype, we were expecting another RAW 1000 or even a pay-per-view level show, but got a jumbled mess instead. If it had been a normal Monday night, I probably would have enjoyed it more, but the build said steak and instead, we got a frozen hamburger.

3. Considering what we know, WWE made the right call releasing Enzo Amore.

FACT: I hate to see anyone lose their jobs, but Enzo kind of brought it on himself. Enzo had this going on and didn’t tell anyone in WWE or give them any kind of warning that he was under investigation by the police and when the news broke, it kind of blindsided everyone. WWE really didn’t have a choice in the matter. Enzo already had a reputation as a bit of a wild man and trouble maker who liked to stir the pot. Enzo had already ruffled many feathers in WWE and didn’t seem to play well with others and when this news broke, he didn’t have many supporters to stand behind him in the office. Enzo would probably had only been suspended until the matter was resolved if he had just stepped up and told WWE what was going on. He didn’t do the right thing and thus, has to deal with the consequences. WWE made the right call.

4. Following the legal issues, suspensions and firing involving Rich Swann & Enzo Amore, WWE should do everything in their power to bring back Neville.

FACT: WWE should sit down and talk to Neville and try to work out their differences, but not because of the Swann or Enzo situations, but because Neville is a great performer who adds a lot to the product and deserves it. There is a void right now on 205 Live and having Neville back would go a great ways to help fill the holes. There are other guys who can help with the situation and 205 Live will be fine regardless of if Neville is there or not, but his presence would help a great deal and be big factor if it could all be worked out.

Who do you want to see the most as a surprise women’s Royal Rumble entrant?

I would love to see Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) or Ivory show up and strut their stuff for a bit. That would be awesome. But a great surprise that I would really pop for would be to see James Ellsworth show up. He (technically) won the first Women’s Money In The Bank match and people would lose their freakin’ minds if Ellsworth was to show up and be a participant in the Women’s Royal Rumble as well. Not to win or even be in the finals, but just to show up. It would be a great moment.

6. Who do you want to see the most as a surprise men’s Royal Rumble entrant?

Anyone who regularly reads my stuff or knows me already knows the answer to this. I want to see, accompanied by Alex Wright and Tokyo Magnum, the one and only Disco Inferno come down and participate in the Rumble match. I want to see a “Boogie Knights / Dancing Fools” reunion take place. After all, never forget, “It’s your duty to shake your booty!”.

And that’s all for me for now. Thank you for reading. Comments, questions and all feedback is welcome and appreciated. Tell me what you think. And with that, I’m down and gone. Until the next time, take it light. Have a great one.
