Are you ready for some of that Fact or Fiction madness? I’m struggling to keep my eyes open right now so expect this to be short, sweet and to the point, kind of like that guy from Food Lion. But he’s cute so it’s okay. And this will be cute too… promise. The questions come from my friends over at 411mania.com/music. And the rest is just little ol’ me. Let’s do this…

Bruno Mars was the right choice to win Album of the Year at the Grammys.

FACT: Bruno Mars was up against Jay Z, Kendrick Lamarm Lorde and Childish Gambino. I have no idea who that last act is, but the others are top notch and talented entertainers. There really wasn’t a bad choice this year regardless of who won the Grammy. I’m just glad it wasn’t Jay-Z.

You enjoyed the performances at the Grammys for the most part.

FICTION: I haven’t watched the Grammys in several years and haven’t missed it at all. If I hear about a particular singer or group performing that I want to see, I can look them up on YouTube and usually will. The Grammys have turned into a pretentious bunch of politically correct crapola over the past several years and I don’t feel like wasting my time with them.

Snoop Dogg will be able to pull off a successful gospel album.

FACT: Much respect to him for even giving this a shot. I’m not a Snoopy Dogg Dogg fan, but I would never condemn anyone for taking a chance and stepping outside the box and outside their comfort zone. I hope this works out and turns out to be good.

The Black Panther soundtrack sounds like a great album.

FACT: It sounds as if they’re putting a great deal of work and talented entertainers on this Soundtrack to make it as strong as possible. I’m looking forward to this movie and I have no doubt that Marvel Studios will pull out all the stops to make sure that this album is as good as it can be.

You enjoyed Breaking Benjamin’s new single “Red Cold River.”

FACT: I went to YouTube and gave it a listen and it’s not bad. Solid and easy to listen to. Is it great? Not really, but I can see it growing on me and becoming a part of my regular listens.

You’re interested in the new Stone Temple Pilots album.

FICTION: Not a big STP fan and never really have been. If I stumble across something from the new album, I’ll probably listen, but I won’t be seeking it out unless someone suggests a song I might like or if I’m doing it for one of these Fact or Fiction columns. Otherwise, I’ll just leave their stuff alone.

And there you go. I told you that it would be short and sweet. Thanks for reading. Questions, comments and thoughts welcome. And until the next time, take care. I’m going to bed. Have a great one.

Ubuntu!
