Tossing Salt Presents:
Music Fact or Fiction
March 31, 2018
Let’s do that Fact or Fiction thing, the music edition. The questions come from my friends over at 411mania.com/music. And I’ve got all the answers. It’s true. It’s damn true. I’m on my lunch break from work so time is limited and so are Lil’ Wayne’s appeal and lyrics. Let’s do this…
You have zero interest in the Spice Girls’ animated superhero movie.
FACT: I have zero interest in the Spice Girls’, period. I didn’t much care for them when they were popular and even less so now. An animated superhero movie? Oh vey! Just lots of action figures and merchandise to pawn off on young impressionable children. No one wants to see this and especially not me. Bunch of damn wannabe’s anyhow.
Thirty Seconds to Mars’ new song “One Track Mind” is solid.
FACT: Solid describes it well. It’s okay and decent enough, but nothing special either. A good, albeit forgettable track.
Phones should be banned from concerts.
FACT: I hate a damn cell phone and if it was up to me, they should be banned from everywhere. If you want to talk on your phone, go sit in the car and talk on it, but if you’re in a store, a restaurant or especially in a movie or at a concert, put the damn phone away and please, SHUT THE HELL UP! You’re welcome.
You enjoyed the video for Marilyn Manson’s “Tattooed in Reverse.”
FICTION: It was okay, but nothing special or worth going out of your way to watch or listen to. Try as he might, Manson is NOT Alice Cooper or Rob Zombie and just a sad little shadow of what shock rock and true greatness can be. He keeps trying, but videos like this just ain’t gonna do it.
The soundtrack for Ready Player One sounds like a great album.
FACT: It’s a ton of hits from the eighties, the era of the best damn music, period. How can it not be great? The 80’s rocked!
Killer Mike is entitled to his views on guns whether people agree with them or not.
FACT: Who is Killer Mike? Of course he’s entitled to his views. This is America and the liberals haven’t taken away the First and Second Amendment yet, although they keep trying. Everyone has a right to their opinion and to speak their mind. And people have a right to disagree. That’s one of the things that makes America great.
And there you go. I’m through here. I have to go get ready to head back to the ABC and get this town more liquored up. By the way, the ABC will be closed on Monday for Easter so be sure to come by and stock up today. We close at eight.
Thanks for reading. Comments and questions and all differences of opinion welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, stay safe and have a very Happy Easter.
