Tossing Salt Presents:
Evolution PPV, Luke Harper, AJ Lee & More
August 23, 2018
It’s Q&A time and it’s all about wrestling. The questions come from my buddy Alan. And I’ve got the answers. Let’s do this…
Do you think we’ll see Ronda Rousey versus Stephanie McMahon at Evolution?
If the altercation between Ronda and Stephanie on RAW this past week is any indication, I would say yes. But honestly, I hope that WWE goes in a different direction between now and the Evolution event and Stephanie gets someone else to represent her in the ring against Rousey rather than trying it herself. If I was Stephanie, this would be a great chance to bring in Kharma (Amazing Kong) or Victoria or any veteran of that status as her “personal hit-woman” to fight her battle. Regardless of who Ronda faces in the ring at Evolution, it’ll be Stephanie McMahon in the opposing corner trying to get revenge against Rousey. Believe that!
Are you glad that Roman Reigns is now the WWE Universal Champion?
Personally, I would rather see Kevin Owens or Finn Balor as the Champ, but I am glad that they finally pulled the trigger and ended the Roman – Brock wars. And if Roman is going to be using Rollins and Ambrose as his partners-in-crime as he defends the title, I guess I can live with it.
Should Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder be reunited as a tag team?
Why not? Zack isn’t doing anything really and once Hawkins losing streak ends, he’ll need something to do as well. Ryder and Hawkins started off in WWE together and were tag team champions as the Major Brothers aka The Edgeheads so they have the tag team credentials to be a top team on the main roster. May as well capitalize on it and use them as a team.
What would Luke Harper do next now that Rowan has been injured?
Have a great singles run and go up against Nakamura and challenge for the U.S. title. Also if he was to temporarily go to RAW and reunite with Braun Strowman and Bray Wyatt to reunite the Wyatt Family and help Braun in his struggles against The SHIELD, that might be pretty cool too.
Did you enjoy SummerSlam?
It was a pretty tight show from start to finish and even though I didn’t really care for all of the finishes (and even though it was too damn long. 13 matches plus an Elias concert… oh vey!), I still think WWE did a good job and put together a good show.
Will you be watching “All In”?
I doubt it. I’ll do a prediction column of course and keep track of the results as they happen online, but so far as actually watch the show, who has the time? I’ll follow the event as it happens though and if any matches sound particularly good, I’ll go and try to find video afterwards. I’m expecting that it should be a good show.
WWE has allegedly reached out to AJ Lee about appearing at Evolution. Do you think she’ll appear?
From what I’ve been told, Vince McMahon himself personally reached out and called Lee and they had a discussion. What this means is anyone’s guess, but Vince can be a mighty convincing person and it would go a long way towards mending the fences between WWE and Lee’s husband, CM Punk. I’m sure that it would also be a nice payday for Lee if she was to accept the WWE’s offer and come to the event. But then you factor in that her hubby just ended a long legal battle against the WWE and is so bitter towards the company. Hell, if I was her, I’d appear for a one-shot and do it as a “Paul Heyman Girl” since Heyman and Punk are still friends and Punk could probably trust Heyman to protect Lee from any B.S. or crap from WWE officials. I hope she does it.
And that’s all for now. Questions, comments and anything else is welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and I’ll catch you later.
