Tossing Salt Presents:
NWA, Tessa Blanchard, CM Punk & More
September 9, 2018
Good morning and welcome to my world. It’s Q&A time and it’s all about the world’s greatest sport, wrestling. The questions come from long time reader and bad joke enthusiast Terry. And away we go…
So the NWA is looking to introduce more titles. Which title do you want to see come back?
The most obvious ones would be a tag team title and a women’s championship. And along with those two titles, the NWA should bring back a classic favorite, the “World Television Championship”. Of course, they need to have regular TV first, but if that ever happens, that classic title held in the past by such stars as Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, Lord Steven Regal & Dusty Rhodes would be the way to go.
Do you think Tessa Blachard will eventually end up in WWE?
Right now, the second generation superstar is signed to Impact Wrestling and W.O.W. so it’ll be at least a year before she can even consider heading to the WWE, but I’m pretty sure that it will eventually happen and she’ll join the ranks of WWE at some point. I’m surprised honestly that it hasn’t already happened, but in some ways, that’s probably for the best. The way she’s working now, she’s learning and getting better and building a great reputation as one of the top women performers in the world so when that call does eventually come (and it will), she’ll be able to move directly to the main roster and a top spot.
Who is Your Favorite nWo Member??
Of the assorted 487 different members of that no-so-elite group, I think that my favorite of all time would be the original “Bad Guy” who started it all, the former Razor Ramon, aka Scott Hall. He was the first man to show up and get the ball rolling and when not being not at battle with his demons, he was and is one of the best and most creative talents in the history of the business. Survey says, one more for the bad guys.
Name a non HOF wrestler who had a Wrestlemania moment.
The first name that came to mind was Zack Ryder, winning that ladder match a couple of years ago to capture the Intercontinental Championship. He wasn’t even scheduled to be in the match, but was a last minute addition and came out on top, climbing that ladder and winning the IC belt. True, he did lose it the next night on RAW, but he still won it at Wrestlemania in a truly amazing moment. Big kudos to Ryder for that. Woo woo woo – you know it!
Are you excited for Season 2 of the WWE’s Mixed Match Challenge?
I really didn’t pay it all that much attention during the first season, but I was a fan of the Asuka / Miz team (that eventually won) and am excited to see that they’re back together for Season 2. They were fun to watch in their promos and matches and really worked together well. I have no problems with the mixed-matches and this upcoming season looks like it could be fun to watch so while excited isn’t really the word I’d use, I think it’ll be interesting and we’ll see some great action and I am looking forward to seeing it and seeing if Miz & Asuka can keep their streak alive, especially now that Miz’s wife, Maryse, aka “The Mizzes” will be added to the equation.
Is CM Punk still relevant?
When the wrestling press follows his every move five years after retirement and when he can draw a line of fans six blocks long for an autograph signing, then yes, I would say that he’s still extremely relevant.
And that’s all for now. My thanks for reading. Questions and comments are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and stay just too sweet. Have a great one.
