Happy Martin Luther King Day. I’ve got the day off from work. Yay! Now, let’s use this extra time to answer a few questions about the world’s greatest sport, pro wrestling. I’ve got a lot of questions to tackle today, courtest of Matt, Jesse and a new face, J.C. My thanks to these three loyal and faithful Saltines. Now, let’s get busy and do this…

What was your favorite character played by Mick Foley?

I didn’t mind Mankind all that much and the Dude Love character got on my nerves to be honest. When he was just being Mick Foley, that was not that bad at all, but the best character that Mrs. Foley’s baby boy ever portrayed was easily Cactus Jack. Bang Bang!

Curt Hawkins versus Brock Lesnar – Streak versus Title. Should it happen?

I’d do it for a warm-up match on RAW this coming Monday. Let Hawkins make a challenge to Brock and Brock, for a laugh, decides to accept. Of course, Brock wins, but have Hawkins give him a few scary moments and close calls in the match. It’d increase Hawkin’s worth and be a nice rub and it wouldn’t hurt Brock at all leading into his match against Balor.

Will RVD ever step into and wrestle in a WWE ring again?

With his history of concussions and injuries, the only way we’ll ever see RVD in a WWE ring again is probably as a surprise for the Royal Rumble match or maybe when he comes to accept a place in the WWE Hall of Fame. But as a regular performer, I think his WWE days are over.

The Revival has allegedly asked for their release from WWE. Thoughts?

If this is true, it’s a big loss for WWE. Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson are one of the most talented tag teams currently active and a huge part of the WWE tag team scene, Their complaints about how tag team wrestling is ignored and treated like second-class in WWE is true and they have plenty of valid points. The Revival knows that they would be more than welcome at ROH or the new AEW promotion so one has to think that’s part of their reasoning. I would hate to see them leave the WWE since they’re one of my favorite teams and one of the best parts of RAW these days, but if they do end up being granted their releases, they’ll do well and be okay. They will definitely be missed.

Would Kerry Von Erich have been a good long term NWA World Champion?

Not at all. He was not, for lack of a better term, the sharpest tool in the shed and had substance abuse problems that made him undependable and risky for any long term planes. The short run he got for a couple of weeks is probably more than he deserved and was probably all he could handle at the time.

Who’s the better color commentator? Jerry Lawler, JBL or Corey Graves?

Lawler was good in the beginning, but eventually got old and stale. Graves is very good and making a name for himself. You can tell he works hard and does his homework and is prepared for every show. But JBL was the one for me, who of these three, was the best. He put the guys over, told stories of names from the past that I remember even if no one else does and came off really good in that announcer’s seat.

AEW has officially reached out to CM Punk. Do you think he’ll reply?

I think he’ll listen to what they have to say, but I also think that unless the money is too stupid to ignore or unless he has a major change of heart, the days of CM Punk as a wrestler, be it WWE or AEW or anywhere else, are over and done.

Jinder Mahal & Drew McIntyre as a tag team, managed by Heath Slater. Yay or Nay?

Let’s not and say we did. I can see this happening as a throw-away match with the former 3MB working a six man tag match at some house show or event that doesn’t matter, but as part of a story-line or major event, I don’t think it will ever happen. I’d majorly mark out if it did, but I doubt it ever will.

What is the purpose of the Demon character if Finn Balor doesn’t wrestle as him against Brock at the RR? Seems like the type of event where he should be used (kinda sucks though with no build to the character’s use).

I actually hope that on RAW tomorrow night, we get some hints about Balor using the Demon character in his match against Brock. As you said, why have the character if he’s not going to use it. I understand saving the character for special occasions, but it’s the main event, a Universal Title match against Brock at the Royal Rumble. If this match doesn’t qualify as demon-worthy, I don’t know what is. I hope that WWE and Finn pull the trigger and unleash the Demon. I guess we’ll know something tomorrow night.

Vince Russo tweeted the following on January 16. I know it’s Russo and all, but I was curious what you thought of what he said. “Wrestling business has literally taken years of my life & continues to do so. Nobody deserves the shit I take on an everyday basis. Nobody. I’d walk away from this in a second and never be heard from again if I had another means to support my family. Just not worth it-never was.”

If Russo needs a means to support his family, I’m sure that Wal-Mart is hiring. Russo is just bitching and trying to get attention with the whole “woe is me” crap. If he hates the business so much, then leave. No one would care and he’d probably be more respected and liked if he was to walk away. He’s just whining like a spoiled brat-baby. Screw him!

And there you go. My thanks again for the questions. Any thoughts, comments or questions, please feel free and give me a shout. Thank you for reading. And with that, I’m out of here. Have a great one and I’ll catch you later.

Ubuntu!
