These come from the world of my Facebook timeline and current pop culture. I’m answering random questions, five at a time. Let’s do this.

Thoughts on Netflix’s cancelling Jessico Jones & The Punisher series?

I hate it and think that it is a bad move by Netflix, canceling these two shows as well as Iron Fist, Daredevil and Luke Cage. The shows are popular and had a very large audience, but at the same time, i get where Netflix is coming from. They don’t own these shows or the rights to their characters and were spending a lot of money to present these shows, but didn’t own a piece of the pie. Marvel is planning on having their own streaming service which will be a direct rival for Netflix and despite losing the audience for these shows, they don’t want to pay money and keep advertising their competition. It makes sense from a business point of view, but as a fan of these shows, it sucks big time. I hope that eventually, Marvel is able to find a way to keep these shows and their original casts intact and find them a new home. I would love to see a Network, using the CW and their “Arrowverse” as an example, take over and keep the shows alive and going. Or maybe feature them all on the streaming service, but just keep them going.

Are you planning on watching the Academy Awards this upcoming Sunday night?

Well it’s currently 3:00am on Monday morning and the Academy Awards show was last night and I have no idea what happened on the show and didn’t watch. Not a second of the event. I’ll check out the results in the morning. So this means “No”, I didn’t watch and had no desire to watch.

Thoughts on Colin Kaepernick’s settlement of his lawsuit against the NFL?

There is a non-disclosure agreement in effect so we’ll never know the details of the agreement, but word is that poor little Colin is getting between sixty and eighty million dollars from the NFL as a result of having his feelings hurt and being “blackballed” by the NFL. What is all boils down to is that the NFL would rather pay him off and have him go away instead of letting it work it’s way through the legal system. So despite being a second-string quarterback who didn’t have a job because he just wasn’t that good and he himself had decided not to take the option to continue playing for another year and was the one who vetoed his contract, Colin now gets to sit at home and play fat-rat like the little bitch he’s shown himself to be. Colin had every right to protest and talk about police brutality, but on his own time. While at football games as part of the 49’ers and while at work in general, the rights and authority of the team should have taken precedence. He brought his politics to work with him, embarrassed his employer repeatedly, caused disruption after disruption and is now getting paid off for it instead of working on his skills and trying to get himself back up to NFL standards as a quarterback. He sold his cause out and everyone that believed in him as a football player out, but he’s getting paid handsomely just to shut up and go away. Welcome to America.

Favorite candy bar?

If we’re talking the mini-me version, it has to be a Snickers bar. And if we’re going all out and getting the big one, I’ll have either a Three Muskateers or a Zero bar please.

Thoughts on Jusse Smollett situation?

Another piece of shit who tried to take advantage of the tense racial divides in America and play the victim card. He (allegedly) orchestrated a fake attack and tried to play it off as an attempted lynching and hate crime, but now all the evidence is showing that it was all a ploy so that he could get more money and more TV time on Empire, the show of which he is one of the cast. Poor Jusse. He’s such a victim. He’s black and he’s gay and he thinks that the world and everyone in it owes him. Well, Jusse, as one gay man to another, no one owes you shit! Now what is going to happen to the next black person or the next gay person who is actually assaulted or gets harassed? Can they report it to the police? They can, but after your stunt here, it’s not safe to accept people at their word anymore and there will be an air of doubt that might hamper any true justice. I’m all for waiting until the investigation to end and for all the facts to come out, unlike the people on CNN and MSNBC and certain politicians. I’m giving an opinion here based on what we’ve learned so far and he shouldn’t be fired from his job at Empire (yet), but if this all plays out that he faked the assault, faked the letter or even lied in the slightest bit about anything, he should be fired from the show, removed from all media concerning the show and sentenced to the maximum amount of time allowed in prison. He’s hurt a lot of people with these stunts and has helped set back blacks and gays quite a bit in the fight for equality. He’s a lying piece of shit and needs to be treated as such. ‘Nuff said!

And there you go. I guess it goes without saying that the views and opinions expressed here on this website, the one with my name in the title, are mine and mine alone so if you don’t like what I say or think, blame me. Let’s talk about it. Send me your comments, thoughts and any questions here at the site or at my e-mail, Doug28352@yahoo.com. And also, thank you for reading. Time to go now so until the next time, take care and have a great day.
