Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Women in WWE, Big Show, Midget Wrestlers & More
March 11, 2019
It’s time… It’s time… It’s Q&A time. Thanks to Eric for all of these. Let’s do this…
Have the women become the main focus of WWE and taken over the top spots from the men?
I don’t know if they’ve taken over the top, but they sure as hell are giving the men a run for their money. If you ask the average fan who the top WWE stars are right now, you’ll hear Becky Lynch, Charlotte and Ronda Rousey just as often as you hear about Cena, Roman or Daniel Bryan. Right now, THE hottest story in WWE is the Becky / Roudey feud and who doesn’t love Asuka? The days of the women in WWE being bit players and after-thoughts when it comes to making matches and putting together shows are over.
Who would you have Kurt Angle and Big Show face in their “retirement matches”?
If Big Show and Kurt Angle were / are to retire anytime soon, and to be honest, I haven’t heard anything about Big Show retiring, my picks for their final opponents from the current main rosters would be Baron Corbin for Angle (with Angle going over) and Samoa Joe for the Big Show, with Joe picking up the win.
If you could put Brock Lesnar in a time machine and match him up against any 5 wrestlers from the past in dream matches, who would he be wrestling and why?
The people I’d love from the past and in their prime that I think would be the best matches for Brock would be Harley Race, Bruiser Brody, Wahoo McDaniel. Verne Gagne and Stan Hansen.
Thoughts on Jeff Jarrett joining the WWE Creative team?
The man was born in the wrestling business and has a great history as a performer, booker, promoter and a great mind for the business. While I wouldn’t want Jarrett as the head of WWE Creative, he knows the business like few others and is a great counter to some of the more modern Hollywood style writers and can also help balance out the crazy that can be Vince McMahon. I think Jarrett is a great asset for the WWE in any capacity they choose to use him.
The Shield versus the nWo – who wins?
Reigns, Seth and Ambrose versus Hall, Nash and Hogan. It’d be a no-contest because the match would be booked to keep everyone strong. But if there had to be a winner, my money would be on the nWo. Hogan loves that “creative control” thing and would refuse to job. Also, there are about 200 other members of the nWo who could get involved and help the original three out. Strength in numbers.
Are you excited for HHH versus Batista at Wrestlemania 35?
I didn’t think I would be, but I recently re-watched Avengers: Infinity War and my respect for Batista has grown over the years from what it used to be. I think that it’ll be a good match and both men will exceed all expectations and put on one hell of a fantastic match.
Should the Big Show retire this year?
As a full time in-ring performer, I think he already has. but so far as official retirement, he should retire when he thinks he’s ready and wants to and no sooner.
Were you sad to see R-Truth lose the U.S. title to Samoa Joe?
I was, but I think we all knew that having Truth as the U.S. Champion was not going to be a long range program. It was more of a thank you to Truth by WWE for being a loyal and good employee for so many years and was well deserved. Now Joe has his first piece of WWE gold, also long overdue and it’s time for him to carry that red, white and blue ball. I’m happy for both men.
Should WWE bring back the midget wrestlers?
Yes. I have a dream of a match at Wrestlemania… a step-ladder match between Hornswoggle and El Torito. Until that happens, I will not be satisfied or happy. Bring back the little people!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Thoughts, comments and any questions welcome and appreciated. Have a great one and I’ll catch you later. Take care.
