Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Kofi, Baron Corbin, Kronik & More
May 9, 2019
Are you ready to talk rasslin? My thanks to Michael, Jody and Matt for the questions. And now, let’s give a few answers. And away we go…
With Lio Rush just about out the door, should they stick Bobby Lashley with another manager? If so, who?
I do think that Lashley works better with a manager or valet to do the majority of his talking for him because, quite simply, as a promo guy, Lashley sucks. He’s better as the “silent but deadly” type. If Lio Rush is, as it appears, on his way out of the company, then a new manager or spokesperson for Lashley would be, in my opinion, the best way to do. Drake Maverick, while he’s waiting for the AOP to come back from injuries, is a possibility. I actually liked it when Titus O’Neill was leading Titus Worldwide, but he’s a face and having him with the heel Lashley would hinder his role as a WWE Ambassador. Maybe Alicia Fox as a valet and spokesperson? Nah, go with Maverick. He’s the best guy on the roster right now for this role is Rush is definitely out of the picture.
How would you sell Kofi Kingston as a long term WWE Champion?
Just as they’ve done it this past week on RAW and Snackdown with convincing clean wins over Daniel Bryan, Sami Zayn and AJ Styles. Keep the matches strong and the victories and the rest will take care of itself.
Is it all just a sham and is Dean Ambrose going to be back in WWE recast as Jon Moxley?
I don’t think so. While I do think that before his career is over, Moxley wil probably be back in WWE at some point for one last big run, but I think that for the next couple of years, the former Dean Ambrose will make an Impact, be Elite and maybe even wear a ring of honor first.
When Velveteen Dream goes to the main roster, is he Vince proof?
No one on the WWE roster is Vince-proof and we just have to hope and pray that Dream either slips under the radar without attracting too much of Vince’s attention or else the changes and tweaks that we know Vince will make to the Dream’s character will be not too damaging and hard to overcome.
You have the power to go back in time and change events / angles / results in pro wrestling. Name three things you’d change.
The hiring of Vince Russo by World Championship Wrestling, the sell of WCW to the WWE and the Benoit murder / suicide for obvious reasons.
Is there anyone you’d like to see WWE reach out to for the upcoming event in Saudi Arabia as they’ve done with Goldberg?
Obviously Sting is the first name that popped into my head and I’d love to see the long dreamed of Sting – Undertaker match take place finally. And how about a certain “Best In The World” former WWE Champion from Chicago. That would be awesome.
How would you get Baron Corbin over as a top face in the WWE?
Corbin as a face would be hard because the guy has that “it” that just makes him annoying and unlikable. He’s a talented wrestler and good in the ring, but he’s not the kind of guy that fans will warm up to all that easily. To make him a top face, he would need to do something noble and beyond reproach. Just be so human and let everyone see the other side of Corbin than only friends and family get to see and give him a cause and reason to be a sincere and nice person. I’m sure that it could be done, but it would take tons of effort from WWE and Corbin himself to make it work for any length of time.
Should WWE create a Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship?
I remember WCW having a Cruiserweight Tag Team Championship created just a couple of weeks before they closed up and were bought out by WWE with the last champions being Kid Romeo and Elix Skipper, although they may have lost the titles to Kidman and Rey Mysterio at the final Nitro. I can’t remember for sure so let me go look it up. And yes, they did. The last champions to hold the WCW Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles was Kidman and Mysterio, under the name “Filthy Animals”. So should WWE bring these titles back? There is barely time on 205 Live now as it is to promote the Cruiserweight Champion and other matches that are taking place so there would rarely be room for a tag title too. My answer to this would be a definite no.
Mick Foley has said that he’s willing to come out of retirement and face Undertaker in Saudi Arabia. Thoughts?
Based on the last few times I’ve seen Foley on TV and in pictures, taking bumps in a match is the last thing he needs to be thinking about doing. I seriously doubt he could pass any of the WWE’s medical tests and last more than thirty seconds in the ring without getting blown up. I hope Mick was joking when he made this challenge because Foley should not wrestle anyone again, ever. The match would be short, suck and probably end up crippling Mick even more than he aleady is. So if Taker needs an opponent, use Sting or Baron Corbin or anyone really, but Foley is a definite hell no.
Will Brian Adams and Bryan Clark, KRONIK, ever be part of the WWE Hall of Fame?
I would personally love to see these two men, who are so well deserving, be presented with a spot in the WWE Hall of Fame, but it won’t happen. Adams unfortunately passed away a few years ago and unless he’s honored along with the rest of Demolition in a posthumous induction, his chances are pretty slim. And Clark, he’s been outspoken in support of Billy Jack Haynes and his lawsuit against the WWE. I have a great deal of respect for both men and they’re good people, but the political nature of wrestling, bad feelings towards Vince and the WWE, and being part of that lawsuit pretty much assures that they won’t be part of the Hall of Fame anytime soon or probably ever.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any questions, comments or thoughts, let me know and give me a shout. Until the next time, stay safe and have a great one. Support your local Indy wrestling. Take care, my peeps.
