I’m listening to Arn Anderson on his “Arn” podcast talking about Starcade 85. And while Arn speaks of his life as the new kid in Crockett and the drama leading up to Starcade, it’s a good time to also write up a new edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. The questions come from Jesse and The Cheese. And the answers, that’s all just me. Let’s do this…

Rumors are that The Rock versus Roman Reigns may be taking place at Wrestlemania. Thoughts?

That would make for one hell of a good match and with Rock and Roman being real life cousins, the story and build could be fantastic. It’s a good way to feature Roman and bring back The Rock for one final match. Family feuds are always the best and if this match can happen, so be it. I’d like to see it take place and I doubt that The Great One would have any problem putting over Roman so everyone wins.

Bull Nakano & Madusa versus The Kabuki Warriors, both in their primes. Who wins?

In their primes, I think it’d be one hell of a match and full of action, excitement and great moves. I think that Asuka against either Madusa or Nakano would make for a great match. I can’t really see Bull and Madusa working as a team all that well though and that would be the difference maker here. The Warriors are the better team and would squeak out the victory.

Thoughts on Junkyard Dog?

Sylvester Ritter, a big star of the 80’s, was a unique talent. Was he a great wrestler? Nope. But it didn’t matter because the fans, especially in the Mid-South and later in the WWE, loved this guy. He was charismatic and had a presence about him that stood out, especially when he was up against a great opponent like Harley Race, Dick Slater or Ernie “The Cat” Ladd. I’ve never really been a fan or forgiven him for cheap-shotting Harley Race with a chair in the match where the loser must “bow” to the winner. Harley won, clean and fair and JYD, who was always the fan favorite, nailed him with a chair instead of living up to the stipulation of the match. I know that’s a booker’s call and not JYD’s, but it was wrong and a bad call. Other than that, he was a strong mid-card talent and the fans loved him. What more can a person ask for?

Best version of the Midnight Express?

Let’s see, we have Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose, Dennis Condrey & Bobby Eaton, Bobby Eaton & Stan Lane and the WWE version of Bart Gunn and Bob Holly. Go ahead and forget about that last team, the WWE version because to be honest, they sucked. Rose and Condrey, as the “Original Midnight Express” in the AWA and then in WCW as managed by Paul Heyman was okay, but in my opinion, when I think of Midnight Express, I think of Jim Cornette standing there, tennis racket in hand, with either Bobby & Dennis standing behind him or same scenario, but with Bobby & Stan standing there. Beset version is a tough call, but I’ve always been a Stan Lane fan ever since his first days in the biz teaming with Bryan Sr. John down in Florida and Bobby, he’s arguably one of the best tag team wrestlers of all time and can make a great team with almost anyone. So Bobby and Stan get the nod for me as the best version. And when they eventually, hopefully sooner rather than later, go into the WWE Hall of Fame, all three of Condrey, Eaton and Lane should be standing up there, along with manager Cornette.

If Ronda Rousey comes back to WWE, who should she face at Wrestlemania?

If Ronda decides to come back at Mania, then I would match her up if possible in singles action against Asuka. If that’s not possible due to Asuka’s tag team responsibilities, then I think Bayley would make for a great match.

Do you think that we’ll eventually see CM Punk versus Seth Rollins?

Well, they’re still taking the shots at each other every so often and it would make for a really fun match that the fans would love to see and would be a great money match for Mania so who knows? I think that all the sniping and bickering has to lead to something so Rollins versus Punk at Mania? I think (hope) that it’ll happen. Keep those fingers crossed.

Lana has allegedly received death threats over the angle with Rusev and Lashley. Thoughts?

It’s a freakin’ wresting storyline and people need to chill the hell out. Yes, the story sucks and watching Lana’s bad acting along with the image of her and Lashley making out, that is NOT a pretty sight, but it’s getting Rusev over and hopefully, there will be a payoff on Sunday at TLC or maybe we’ll eventually see Rusev & Lashley as a team with Lana in a shark cage as CM Punk suggested. The story is what is it and I both commend and cringe at these three talents having the balls to stick it out and even though it’s a train wreck, I’m curious as to where it will go next. And as for the threats, I hope that WWE and the FBI are doing everything they can to keep Lana safe and protected and that whoever the sick puppy making these threats is, they are found, arrested, prosecuted and maybe even given a “love tap” by a few of the boys in a back room somewhere. There is no place for this kind of crap and it takes a sick bastard to threaten anyone over a wrestling story line.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, stay safe and have a great one. Oh yeah, Happy Jason Day! I’ll see you at the matches.
