Tossing Salt Presents:
WWE TLC 2019
Thoughts & Predictions
December 15, 2019
Later today, it’s the WWE’s much anticipated pay-per-view, TLC, takes place. And of course, that means it’s time to break out the crystal ball and do that prediction thing. Let’s do this…
Universal Champion Bray Wyatt vs. The Miz (non-Title match)
Why is this non-title? And why is Bray Wyatt wrestling as Bray Wyatt and not as “The Fiend”? And what is the capital of South Dakota? Where is Daniel Bryan and what is the status of his impending battles with Bray? So many questions and I haven’t been able to watch enough of Smackdown Live as of late to have any real answers. At least since it’s Bray as Bray and not as his crazed and fiendish alter-ego, we hopefully won’t that annoying red light over the ring. Bray did put the Funhouse characters with Miz and Maryse’s kid so there is a personal stake and a pissed off daddy to deal with. I think that since this is a filler pay-per-view and no one really gives a damn anyhow, let’s give the win to the Miz. He can then lose a title match on a future edition or else maybe be inserted into a three-way dance with Bray and Daniel Bryan at the Rumble. Yeah, the Miz gets to take that trip to the pay window.
Winner: The Miz
Roman Reigns vs. King Corbin (Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match)
Roman got dog food dumped on him last week and his response was, “tastes like chicken”. Okay, maybe not. It was a great heel move by Corbin, but for every action, there is a counter-action and in this case, it’ll be a few Superman-punches and a spear that takes Corbin out of his crown and booties. Roman takes the win here.
Winner: Roman Reigns
SmackDown Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. The Revival (Ladder Match)
Logic says that the New Day should win and keep their titles, but after the craziness that was Smackdown this past week and that I had to go find on YouTube, I think that all logic can be thrown out the window. Baron Corbin and Dolph Ziggler now have some bad feelings towards the New Day and as a result, I can easily see them getting involved in this match and forming an alliance with The Revival. A new faction of sorts is formed and we also have new tag team champions.
Winners and NEW Smackdown Tag Team Champions: The Revival
Rusev vs. Bobby Lashley (Tables Match)
How about both get put through a table and Lana gets put into a shark cage and this silly rivalry is brought to an end? Probably not. I guess since this is WWE and they love to torture us with bad acting stupid plots and puppies (and all of that is just Lana), the craziness will continue and for that to happen, Lashley has to win. I’m already dreading this match even if it does take place on Rusev Day. Wouldn’t it be great to see Rusev bring his former partner and current 205 Live Announcer Aiden English with him to give him a great introduction and also to counter Lana’s antics. But he won’t and this will keep on going on.
Winner: Bobby Lashley w/ Lana
WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions The Kabuki Warriors vs. Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair (Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match)
There is no way in hell that The Kabuki Warriors should lose the titles here. They’re so damn good and arguably one of the best things on RAW each week. But this is the WWE and having tag team champions who don’t get along is a WWE tradition dating back many decades. It’s one of Vince’s favorite angles to do again and again and again and again. And so shall it be here too. The belts should stay with The Warriors, but when the night ends, it’s Becky and Charlotte who will be crowned as the new champions.
Winners and NEW Women’s Tag Team Champions: Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair
Aleister Black vs. Buddy Murphy
In many ways, I kind of expect this to be the match of the night. Both of these guys are incredible and so much fun to watch. If given enough time, I expect we’ll have a wrestling clinic of action and excitement. Black should win in the end, but a loss won’t hurt Murphy a bit if he’s given enough time to strut his stuff for a bit.
Winner: Aleister Black
Raw Tag Team Champions The Viking Raiders to issue open challenge at WWE TLC this Sunday.
It could be the Street Profits, but the Raiders beat them pretty easily this past Monday on RAW so why would they deserve another shot? Gallows and Anderson would be another logical choice, but I don’t think so. I think that Sheamus is due to come back at anytime now and with that in mind, how about the open challenge being accepted by The Bar, Sheamus and Cesaro? Works for me and they don’t have to win, but just kick ass and have a great match and it would immediately place The Bar right where they belong, among the top of the ladder for tag teams in the WWE. So the match will be The Viking Raiders versus The Bar. And the end result? Sheamus and Cesaro get carried away kicking ass and end up being DQ’ed. Raiders keep their titles.
Winners by DQ (and still RAW Tag Team Champions) The Viking Raiders
And there you go. Thoughts, comments and any questions welcome and appreciated. Thanks for reading. Until the next time, stay safe and I’ll see you at the matches.
