Ultimate Wrestling Q&A: Super Humman, Michael Cole & More…

Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Super Humman, Michael Cole & More
January 6, 2020

The questions, they just keep a’ coming. These are from The Cheese and James K. My thanks to those two awesome individuals. And the answers, you know where that comes from. I need to go to bed soon, but before I do, let’s do this…

Which one do you prefer – blue cage or normal cage?

I always used to groan when WWE would break out that ugly ass blue cage for cage matches. I grew up in the Carolina’s, Mid-Atlantic Wrestling and the NWA and our cage matches were chain link fence and good old fashioned chicken wire. Normal cages are more brutal, more realistic and more fun to watch by a long shot.

The Young Bucks versus Matt & Jeff Hardy – who wins?

At this point in their careers, if the match goes over ten minutes, then The Young Bucks have the edge and should win.

Have you seen any of the videos by Super Humman? Thoughts?

I’ve seen many of this guys videos and he is a freakin’ dumb ass idiot… period. He’s doing stupid stunts, injuring himself for a few views on YouTube. A real wrestler needs to have a talk with him one day and maybe nail him in the head a few times with a sledge hammer. He’s a damn moron at best and a brain dead jackass at worst.

What wrestling terms and catch-phrases do you find yourself often using in real life conversations?

I often use the term “tag in” to switch places with my coworkers. Calling people “ass-clowns” is pretty common too.

Thoughts on Michael Cole and how do you rank him as an announcer?

Cole is actually a pretty good announcer. He doesn’t really get outrageous or crazy and isn’t great, but is consistent and good all across the board. He can be counted on to call the action as Vince and WWE wants him too and while he’ll never be known for being overly exciting, he gets the message across and the job done. He’s solid in every way it counts as an announcer.

Imagine if the leader of the Dark Order was revealed to be… Orange Cassidy?

No, let’s not. That would be a good twist and might even make the whole “Dark Order” story line interesting, but I much prefer Cassidy as he is now and a revelation of that sort would ruin any good feelings I have towards the man and his character.

Jimmy Garvin. Was he a good wrestler and how would you rank him on a scale of 1 – 10?

Jimmy Garvin was a good solid performer with a lot of skill and talent. He main evented matches in Florida, World Class and Crockett before becoming part of the NWA and having a good angle with Flair, battling the NWA World Champion over the affection of Garvin’s real life wife, Precious. He was also an excellent tag wrestler and was part of the last incarnation of the Fabulous Freebirds with partner Michael Hayes. So yes, he was very good in that ring and on the mic and on a scale of 1 to 10, I’d say he was a solid 8. But it’s not his fault. Just ask him and he’ll tell you that.

Favorite wrestler growing up?

Ric Flair, Blackjack Mulligan, Jimmy Valiant and Masked Superstar were my early favorites. And later on, The Midnight Express and Jim Cornette, The Anderson Brothers and Stan Hansen all joined the ranks of those I thought were the top dogs at the time.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions to ask, just drop me a line and let’s talk. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. Remember to support your local Indy wrestling company and I’ll see you at the matches. Have a great night.
