Tossing Salt Presents:
Jake Roberts, MJF, AEW & More
March 5, 2020
Fresh from a nap after a grueling day of Doctors, Car Problems and loud-mouth cats, it’s time to get busy and do some of the stuff we do around here just for you. Of course, that means an edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. The questions are from Matt F. and Dante. The answers, that’s all me. Let’s do this…
Is AEW ready to go full steam against WWE?
WWE is a billion-dollar company. AEW is owned by a billionaire. WWE has four weekly action shows, access all over the world and three brands. AEW is on Wednesday nights with two hours to strut their stuff. WWE has dozens of top stars who are main event level talents. AEW has Moxley, Cody, Jericho & Jungle Boy. So is AEW ready for the big fight, the big event, the main attraction, the war of wars, the wrestling wars reboot, etc? Sure, why the hell not?
Should AEW sign James Ellsworth?
I like Ellsworth, but in a company that already has Marko Stunt on the roster, what would he bring to the table? Nothing new or special. Leave him be.
Terry Funk versus Stan Hansen. Who wins?
The fans. This match, with both men in their primes or even slightly older, would totally kick some ass. If booked in Japan, Stan wins. If booked in ECW, then Terry wins. And anywhere else, it’s a double count-out or disqualification.
Who would you say is the most interesting man in the wrestling world?
Vince McMahon is the first name that comes to mind. I’d love to get inside that head and find out what makes him tick. He is unique and very different.
Jake Roberts in AEW. Thoughts!
It was great to see “The Snake” on AEW last night and also a great surprise. Roberts looks better than I’ve seen him in years and that short promo, albeit a bit confusing at times, was better than 98% of the other stuff out there. And having him back as the manager for his surprise, rumored to be Brodie Lee aka Luke Harper, sounds great as well. I’m excited and intrigued and can’t wait to see how this all develops.
Bray Wyatt NEVER should have won the Universal Title?
I hate to agree, but I do. Bray, doing the Fiend character, is not what is best for business or the character. The Fiend is a special attraction type of character that should be above belts, titles, and championships. He should be about chaos, blood, and revenge. Bray, as Bray should get a long run eventually with the WWE or Universal Championship. He’s that good and deserves it, but in his current role, it’s like putting a hoodie on a cat. It just doesn’t make sense.
MJF flipped off a kid. Thoughts?
MJF is the ultimate heel and the kid deserved it. It’s petty, childish and such a dick move, I love it. Great job for MJF and it fits his character perfectly.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Now it’s time for dinner and then I’ll be back to tackle a few other things. Any questions, comments or thoughts, drop me a line and let’s chat. Don’t forget to support your local Indy Wrestling promotion and wrestlers. These men and women are the future. And with that, I’m out of here. I’ll see you at the matches.
