Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Wrestlemania, Chris Cruise, The Colons & More
March 28, 2020
Another Q&A for your enjoyment. My thanks to Cheese and Matt J. for the questions. Now, let’s see if we have a few answers. Let’s do this…
Does the fact that Wrestlemania will be mostly, if not entirely, pre-taped, make you any less excited for the biggest show of the year?
A bit, but what the hell. It’s still Wrestlemania and I’ll try and avoid spoilers as much as I can. I know it’s going to be a great show with some hard-hitting fun matches and even if I do know who wins and loses beforehand, I’ll still enjoy the show and make the best of this crazy & awkward situation.
Thoughts on (name omitted) taking Roman’s place as the challenger for Goldberg and the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania.
I’m not listing the person’s name because of some people not knowing and not wanting to know, but I’m not thrilled with this choice. He makes sense and I can see a million reasons that this person was chosen for the match against Goldberg. I would personally have rather seen the winner of the Fiend versus Cena getting the match against Goldberg or maybe bringing up Matt Riddle from NXT as a surprise, but WWE didn’t go that route. They made their choice and it’s not the choice I would have made. But it could have been worse too.
I recently saw where former WCW Announcer Chris Cruise complained about AEW to the Maryland Athletic Commission for events that happened at their Full Gear PPV. What is his deal?
Cruise is an odd fellow and kind of a prick sometimes. He seems to relish in that role and so finding that he made it a point to point out every violation of the rules of the Athletic Commission that AEW may or may not have committed doesn’t surprise me. I follow him on Facebook and enjoy his tirades and bitch-fests. Why he seems to have a grudge against AEW, I don’t know, but it’s not only AEW. He’s that way about everything wrestling-related or so it seems to me. I don’t know what his deal is, but it’s just who and what he is.
How would Madusa do in today’s WWE Women’s Division?
Madusa is a tough woman with a background in judo and martial arts so I think she’d do just fine in today’s world of women’s wrestling. Madusa was, is and always will be a true legend and icon and a great professional wrestler… Period!
What has happened to Primo & Epico, the Colons in WWE? Are they still even there?
Technically, both Primo and Epico are still under contract and work for the WWE, but both are also working for WWC, Carlos Colon’s company in Puerto Rico as well. They are both wrestling and holding executive positions with the company as well. So they’re still active and they may be back in action with WWE at some point, but until that happens, they’re helping Carlos keep his company alive and active.
The Wild Samoans (Afa & Sika) versus The Authors of Pain (AOP) – who wins?
I like the AOP, but I think that Afa & Sika, along with manager Captain Lou Albano, would find a way to come out on top of what would be a classic Pier Six Brawl. The Samoans win.
The Crusher, The Bruiser & Mad Dog Vachon versus Ole, Gene & Lars Anderson. Who wins?
Ole and Gene are arguably the greatest tag team in wrestling history, at least in my opinion, but brother Lars was always the weak link. Ask Ole. He’ll tell you. The Crusher and Bruiser are a legendary tag team in their own right and Mad Dog Vachon was a ruthless top star all over the world. If it was a two-on-two tag match, I’d go with Ole & Gene, but in this six-man match, with their weak link as their partner, I think Bruiser, Crusher and Mad Dog Vachon would find a way to take home the win.
And there you go. Thanks for reading. Any thoughts, comments or questions, please feel free and drop me a line. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. I’ll see you on the flip side.
