5 Questions: Eggs, Coronavirus, Mel Brooks & More…

Tossing Salt Presents:
5 Questions
Eggs, Coronavirus, Mel Brooks & More
March 29, 2020

Life is full of questions and today, I answer them, five at a time. My thanks to Cheese, who seems to be even more bored than I am while stuck at home. Let’s do this…

What is your favorite rainy day activity?

Booty calls. But since I’m old, fat, single and anti-social, that rarely happens so I’ll go with writing, sleeping, watching Netflix and Disney+, and did I say sleeping?

Brown eggs or white eggs?

Eggs are eggs and I like both, but I do have to admit that those fresh farm eggs, the brown ones, tend to have a slightly richer taste.

What are the five changes you’ve made in your life due to Coronavirus?

I don’t know if I’ve made five changes or not. I don’t socialize much, but then again, I never have. I don’t go to Wal-Mart quite as often, but that’s a good thing since that place is evil and I only go when absolutely necessary anyhow. I’m still working as we’re “essential”, I’m still picking up for the Food Bank from Food Lion three days a week and I’m still chilling with my bro-son if he needs to go anywhere. I guess the only big changes have been that I’m using hand sanitizer every couple of minutes and if someone near me coughs, I’ll mace them down with the Lysol. Other than that, my life has stayed exactly the same.  I was social-distancing before it was cool and the thing to do.

What is your favorite Mel Brooks movie (besides Blazing Saddles)?

Blazing Saddles is one of the best movies ever made, period. Mel Brooks is an equal opportunity offender and no one is safe from his humor and jokes. My other favorites from this master of mayhem would be Spaceballs, Young Frankenstein, History of the World Part I and Robin Hood: Men In Tights.

Best TV Police / Detective show?

Through the seventies and eighties, TV detective shows were the thing. Later in the nineties and beyond, it’s more formalized and official agencies instead of individual rebellious P.I.’s. My favorites were Charlie’s Angels, Rockford Files, Matlock, Magnum TA (the original) and Ironside. And more recently, it would be NCIS and Criminal Minds. I don’t watch as much TV as I used to. Would Kolchak: The Night Stalker count? Nah, he was a reporter and not a detective or cop. Good show though regardless.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions, please feel free to drop me a line. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. Be good.
