Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
AEW. New Age Outlaws & More
April 1, 2020
It’s the first day of April. I should have a joke here. I don’t. Instead, I have the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. The questions come from Jackson. The answers are mine. Let’s do this…
What wrestling event/promotion will you attend after the Coronavirus dies?
On my bucket list is still a trip to Wrestlemania, but in the more immediate future, I think shows by local promotions like CAGE, RWC, APW, etc, are more in order. Once the local shows begin again, work schedule permitting, I plan on trying to attend as many as possible as often as possible. If Ethan Storm, BD Productions, The Carolina Kidd, etc are working and I can be there, I will.
Name five good wrestlers that have never been in WWE before.
Former TNA star Crimson, Orange Cassidy, Sammy Guevera, MJF and The Disco Inferno.
Who is your favorite AEW wrestler?
At the moment, I have to say Sammy Guevera. That young man has “star” written all over him.
What superstars you’d like to see come to AEW that would be a shocker?
How about Carlito and Chris Masters. Both men are fantastic performers and belong at the big show again. If WWE doesn’t sign them or can’t find a way to use them. then AEW should certainly make the effort.
Elimination Chamber of Champions representing AWA (Verne Gagne), ECW (Shane Douglas), NWA (Harley Race), USWA (Jerry Lawler), WCW (Ric Flair), WWF (Hulk Hogan), WWE (John Cena), TNA (Jeff Jarrett), and AEW (Chris Jericho). Who wins?
I can’t see Gagne doing this kind of match, to be honest about it. It sure as hell wouldn’t be Douglas, Lawler or Jarrett winning. Hogan’s ego would demand that he’s the winner, but I think a short conversation with Race might change his mind. Hell, with this much talent, it could go to anyone. I think the last two men would be John Cena and Harley Race and Cena would be the one to get the win.
How would you rank the New Age Outlaws so far as all-time great teams go?
Far better talkers than in-ring talents, but that’s not an insult. As a tag team, they were good and had some good matches. I don’t really consider them as all-time greats though. When I think of great tag teams, I think Midnight Express, Hart Foundation, Rock & Roll Express, Steamboat & Youngblood, The Usos, etc. And the Outlaws? Not really. They’re good, but not in my personal top ten.
Without gimmicks and acting, which wrestler do you think would be the best real-life fighter?
It would come down to one of two men. Brock Lesnar or Meng (Haku). And who am I to dispute 98% of the wrestling world? Meng is the man… period!
Steve Austin & The Rock versus Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage. Who wins and why?
Austin and The Rock win. As for why? Cause Liz (Miss Elizabeth) likes the strudel. And I don’t much like Hogan. And that’s all the reason I need.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions, just drop me a line. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll catch you later.
