Good morning and welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. If you have a question about wrestling, I have the answers. At least that’s the theory and I’m not talking about Austin. Jackson sent me a few questions. Thanks for that. And now, let’s see if I can come up with a good response or two. Let’s do this…
Should Heath Slater get a WWE title opportunity? And if so, how would you book him to win the Championship?
This question has to be due to the WWE Championship win for Drew McIntyre on Sunday night at Wrestlemania, coupled with the WWE title reign last year for Jinder Mahal. If the other two members of 3MB can win World Championships, why not the One Man Band and their leader, Heath Slater. WWE doesn’t see Heath as a top guy. It’s just that simple. He’s a solid performer with a strong fan base, but he’s not what Vince and Hunter see as World Champion material. But should he get an opportunity? Absolutely. I think the fans would love to see it and I know I would. As Heath proved with Daniel Bryan a few months ago, he can go with anyone. He’s beefed up a bit as of late too and could pull off at least a short run with a singles belt.
As for how I’d book it, I’d do it one of two ways. Either put Heath in the Money In The Bank match and have him score the win, much like Zack Ryder did at Wrestlemania a few years ago to win the Intercontinental Championship in a ladder match or I’d go another route. Have Braun Strowman, intentionally or otherwise, disrespect Heath and Heath gets pissed off and challenges Braun to a fight. Braun laughs him off and accepts and just for kicks, it’s NO DQ. Braun can decimate Heath for a bit, but here comes Jinder Mahal and he gets involved. Braun is distracted and three seconds later, Heath scores a pin and is the new Universal Champion. Drew McIntyre can come out and celebrate with Heath & Jinder and we get a 3MB reunion with both Heath & Drew wearing gold while Jinder, being a former WWE Champion, celebrates as well. Braun can win the title back the next night or week or whatever, but Heath gets a big push and moment, the fans get a 3MB reunion and I get a big smile on my face because I am not a fan of Braun Strowman. And there you go.
Is Chris Jericho right that he’ll never be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame?
Thoughts on the Boneyard Match and Firefly Funhouse Match from Wrestlemania?
As much as I hate to dispute ‘Le Champion, he’s wrong. While under contract with AEW, he will not be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame, but once that gig is over, it’s just a matter of time for the first-ever Undisputed Champion to take his place and get his just due.
Who is the best brother tag team combination?
Real brothers or kayfabe brothers? For the not really brothers, but everyone thinks they are category, it’s Ole & Gene Anderson, aka The Minnesota Wrecking Crew… period. As for honest-to-God real blood brothers, for me, it comes down to The Steiners, Jack & Jerry Brisco, Terry & Dory Funk Jr, The Briscoes, The Young Bucks, The Usos or Harlem Heat. Did I miss anyone? It’s either Harlem Heat or The Usos. I think I’ll go with Booker & Stevie Ray on this one and show some WCW love and loyalty.
Could the wrestling business have survived if Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan had never been wrestlers?
It was strong before Flair & Hogan and it would have continued just fine without Flair & Hogan. If not them, someone would have filled the spot and been a top star. Wrestling is then, now and forever.
Dusty Rhodes & Hulk Hogan versus Stan Hansen & Bruiser Brody. Who wins?
Who’s the booker? If they’re in Japan, Hansen & Brody win. Anywhere else, it’s Dusty & Hulk winning by DQ because Stan & Brody would be too much for them to handle.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions to be answered, just drop me a line. Until the next time, stay safe, stay home and be good. I’ll catch you on the flip side.
