One of the more interesting people that I follow on Twitter is a man named Tyler (The Ghost) Casper. (@tyler_casper) Check him out and give the man some love and a follow. Now, what was I saying? Oh yeah, he asks a lot of questions. And the regular readers of this site know how I am about questions, right? So I went down his Twitter feed and copied several of the most recently asked questions. And now, for your reading pleasure, it’s time to provide a few answers. So are you ready? Let’s do this…
What is a fad from the 2000’s you think should make a comeback?
Are there any fads in the 2000’s that are worth talking about? Multiple baby-daddies and Trump Derangement Syndrome? An entitlement society? I can’t really think of anything that is a sign of the times for this decade that has gone away that would be welcome back. Family values, honesty, looking out for others, not depending on others to give you everything, etc, that’s what I’d like to see come back into fashion and style. That’s not a 2000’s fad so much as early America, but there you go.
What is a fad from the 1900’s you think should make a comeback?
Video machines in the c-stores, going outside and bike riding and socializing instead of living indoors and on computers, beach trips and bonfires.
What is a fad from the 1910’s you think should make a comeback?
Flappers. (Look it up!)
What is a fad from the 1920’s you think should make a comeback?
WC Fields and Fatty Arbuckle. Silent movies were cool too.
Looters are coming, the item by you right foot is your only weapon, what do you name your new puppy?
I name him “Whoop Ass” cause that’s what we would be doing to those punks and thugs.
What is a fad from the 30’s you think should make a comeback?
Al Capone & the Mob. Oh wait, they’re already back and control Detroit, Chicago, New York, and California. We just call them Democrats now.
What is a fad from the 40’s you think should make a comeback?
Hating Nazi’s, self-reliance, love of God, country and family.
What is a fad from the 50’s you think should make a comeback?
Rock & Roll, Drive-In movies, and soda fountains.
What is a fad from the 60’s you think should make a comeback?
Free love and peaceful protests.
What is a fad from the 90’s you think should make a comeback?
The Monday Night Wars, good wrestling, and The Disco Inferno.
What is a fad from the 80’s you think should make a comeback?
Great movies, music videos on TV (remember MTV when they actually played music videos), and hair-metal.
What is a fad from the 70’s you think should make a comeback?
Willie, Waylon, Tompall & Jessi, the “Outlaw Movement”. Real singers with real talent recording what they liked and not having to conform to the “right way” of doing things, that so-called Nashville Sound.
What is the worst TV commercial you’ve ever seen been about?
Political commercials get on my nerves, but I think the worst was two women, a mother & daughter, walking on the beach talking about their “family’s best friend”. It’s a laxative commercial. Talk about being full of shit… lol.
What is the best tv commercial you’ve ever seen been about?
Alice Cooper doing an ad for Staples and talking about “weirdos”. A very cool advertisement. And the original old lady going “Where’s The Beef” was great too.
What is the funniest movie you’ve ever seen?
A hard call, but for consistency and aging well and still being funny, I’d go with either “Airplane” or Mel Brook’s “Blazing Saddles”.
Do you have a fire pit?
No, I don’t. I wouldn’t mind having one though, but it would mean being outside at times and I don’t go outside if it can be avoided.
Have you ever had a pair of jeggings?
Panty hose, you mean? I did do drag one Halloween and wore a pair, but not the multi-colored styled ones that people wear these days instead of putting on pants. I’m fat and I know that something like that is for skinny people. On fat people, they make the legs and ass look like a stuffed sausage. Not a pretty sight at all. Oh vey!
And there you go. Any comments, questions, or other thoughts, just drop me a line here at the site, at my e-mail of Doug28352@yahoo.com, or on Twitter at @Doug28352. And now, I have to go and play some catch-up with some other stuff. Thanks for reading and I will see you on the flip side. Be safe.
