Ultimate Wrestling Q&A: Forgotten Sons, Drake Maverick, Lashley & More…

Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Forgotten Sons, Drake Maverick, Lashley & More
June 17, 2020

Good morning and welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I have a lot of questions this morning, courtesy of Facebook, Matt F., & The Cheese. And since time is fleeting, let’s see if I can come up with a few answers as well. Let’s do this…

A Best Of Five Series – Who Wins? Nikita Koloff versus Superstar Billy Graham?

This would be an interesting combination of styles as Nikita was pure muscle and power while Graham combined power with a spattering of martial arts and science. Plus Nikita wrestled the “southern style” while Graham was more of the North-East and that more plodding style of match. Of course, it would have to go all five matches, but I think that in most of these “Best Of” series, the face usually wins. So was this Nikita before or after Magnum’s car accident? I think Koloff would end up coming out on top.

Who is the best tag team of your childhood?

My childhood would mean the ’70s and only one team comes to mind. That would be The Minnesota Wrecking Crew, Ole & Gene, the Anderson Brothers. Not only the best of my childhood but also arguably one of the best of all time… period.

Name an enhancement wrestler who you think could have been a success if given a chance to shine in one of the national promotions.

Brad Armstrong was used as a jobber in WCW, but in terms of ability, was one of the best in-ring talents ever. He was big in the territories but was regulated to the role of jobber when they went national and I’ve always felt that was a shame. Keith Larson, aka Rocky Kernodle, was a man with a lot of potential as well. He was a jobber in Crockett and did a few matches at Starcade, but was always overshadowed by his older brother, Don. He had a good look and charisma and could have, in my opinion, been used much better.

The Forgotten Sons (Jaxson Ryker, Steve Cutler, and Wesley Blake) seem to have been pulled from WWE TV due to Ryker’s pro-Trump tweets. Thoughts?

I think it’s a stupid reason. The owners of the company, Vince & Linda McMahon, are pro-Trump and no one dares to say a word. But Ryker, a former Marine, expresses his opinion and is being punished for it because he’s obviously not allowed to have a thought or opinion that hurts the feelings of the mass left looney-tunes. If you support OUR President, that automatically makes you racist, homophobic, and a bad person. At least that’s the way that the brainwashed sheep on the left feel. I’m hoping that this will all blow over and The Sons can get back on track with a strong push by WWE. Unfortunately, I doubt it will, but one can still have faith.

It seems that Shane McMahon has challenged The Undertaker to face him in a Hell In A Cell match. Should Taker accept and what do you think of this “challenge”?

Shane is trying to grab some spotlight and be relevant in the only way he can right now and that’s by going after the biggest name in the business. Taker is nearing the end of his career and deserves a far better choice of opponents that Shane McMahon, but that’s his call and not mine. I don’t think Shane is the person to work with Taker to have a great or even good match. He’s definitely no AJ Styles in that ring. If Taker does accept, it should be a quick squash with chokeslam, Tombstone and it’s over. We’ll just have to wait and see what happens.

Was the Drake Maverick angle a work?

Everything I’ve read and seen says that Drake didn’t know that he was going to be offered a contract again after his NXT Championship match final and I’ll take WWE at their word that this was real and a shoot, not a worked angle. But then again, it’s wrestling so…? We’ll probably never know for sure.

Do you believe that Charlotte Flair should win a WWE World Title?

Absolutely not and here is why. Look at Charlotte standing next to Lashley or Brock or even Jeff Hardy for example. She’s in great shape and a great wrestler, but could she legit beat any of these men in a fight? Wrestling is all about suspending your belief for a while, but the thought of Charlotte beating Drew McIntyre or Braun Strowman, that’s just asking too much. Impact Wrestling did it with Tessa and I get that, but what works in a smaller company that barely gets any attention wouldn’t work in a company like WWE. Charlotte is one of the best women wrestlers ever, but she should stick to wrestling women and going after Women’s Championships.

What are your thoughts on the Jeff Hardy angle from Smackdown where he was arrested?

I think it’s brutally uncomfortable and a bit much, but if Hardy is comfortable doing it, then whatever. No real opinion one way or the other.

Would Bobby Lashley make a strong WWE Champion right now?

He’d be better than Braun. Lashley has been badly used since he came back to WWE, but now with MVP as his manager and being booked more in a manner consistent with his TNA run, he’s on a roll. He would be a good choice for a future title run.

What are your thoughts on Randy Orton and Tommaso Ciampa feuding online?

It’s two men getting silly and feuding over something that doesn’t matter. Orton decided for whatever reason, to take shots at NXT. You have to know that HHH loved that. And Ciampa responded with a shot back and then it’s just kind of died. My guess is that if it’s not building towards an angle or match, Vince and HHH probably stepped in and told them to chill.

Do you believe that WWE Hall of Famer Donald Trump will win the 2020 Presidential Election?

It’s a crazy world we live in, but if there is one degree of sanity left, we will see the silent majority reject that entitled derangement that has taken over, and common sense will prevail as President Trump is elected once more to serve four more years as our President.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions to ask, just drop me a line here at the site, at my e-mail of Doug28352@yahoo.com, or on Twitter at @Doug28352. Let’s chat. And with that, I’m out of here. It’s time to go to Wal-Mart and then work, the start of a very long and tiring day. I’m already exhausted. Until the next time, stay safe and watch out for the crazies. I’ll see you at the matches.
