Tossing Salt Presents:
Ft. Bragg, Face Masks, BLM & More
July 24, 2020
This world is full of questions and I’m always down to answer them, no matter how serious or benign they may be. A long-time acquaintance, Sarah, sent me a few based on some recent conversations we’ve had. And though I was hesitant at first, especially with the first question, I decided that what the hell, let’s take a crack at them. It’s not like anyone reads these things anyhow, right? So here you go, my opinions and answers. Let’s do this…
If you could commit suicide without hurting anyone else, would you?
Would I choose to give up and die rather than continue this path if I had the option where it wouldn’t hurt those I love? Truthfully, you betcha! Life isn’t meant to be easy and I get that, but sometimes, I find myself wondering if it’s really worth the loneliness, the pain, the anxiety and tension and I’m not thrilled with the answer I tend to get. But I do have family and a few friends (that are more family to me than friends) that would be hurt if I was to take that step, the “cowards way out” and I refuse to intentionally cause them any pain or suffering. Hell, I might be deluding myself that anyone would even give a fuck, but even with the slightest possibility of that happening, it’s better to just deal with what comes, the twists, turns and yes, the pain than to take that chance of hurting those I most love. When the times comes to bid farewell to the mortal coil, I shall be ready and welcome the dark embrace, but so long as I have this inner-responsibility and determination to be the best I can for those who I care for, I’m going to be here and keep on keeping on. Suicide is not the answer, not for me anyway. The pain ends for the person but continues forever for those left and that’s not something I could do to those I hold dear in my heart. So I guess I’m sticking around for a while to come. I don’t really have any other options or choices.
Joe Biden declared that if you’re black and don’t vote for him, “you ain’t black!”. So if you’re a gay man and don’t vote for Biden, are you still gay?
Well if I’m not gay, then a lot of men are wondering what the hell happened and I’m kind of wondering that myself. I like guys and hot, sweaty man-sex so I’m definitely of the homosexual persuasion. But there is no way in hell I’d ever vote for Joe Biden or any Democrat currently in power or embracing the ideals of those currently in power. Them people is freakin’ nuts! So Biden is wrong and I’m still gay. I think I may have been inadvertently kicked out of the club a while back since most of what everyone perceives to be the “gay agenda”, I tend to find absurd, over-reaching, and to be honest, very self-serving. I just want to be happy and live my life as I see fit, treating others as I would like to be treated, etc. I’m not going to automatically hate or argue because someone doesn’t agree with me on everything, and that’s the way that the so-called left and the Democrats have turned. If you’re not with them 100%, you’re automatically a racist, a homophobe, and they’ll bash you in the head if you give them the chance. It’s all about entitlement and mindless indulgence than common sense and compromise. I can’t be like that, like the Democrats and Joe Biden. But I am still a gay man and if you don’t believe it, and you’re a cute guy, just ask me and I’ll prove it.
Should face masks be mandatory?
Nope, but I get it why they’re being forced upon the public at large by the media and political powers-that-be. It’s annoying and there is no proof that it will help contain the spread of COVID-19, but I guess it’s better than nothing. It should be optional though and no one should be forced to wear one. That’s government overreach in my opinion.
Should Ft. Bragg be renamed and if so, what would you suggest?
This whole renaming of military bases is stupid, baseless, and just plain way too politically correct for my tastes. No one cared or was offended until recently and it’s just silly. Pandering to these idiots and giving in because they just realized that the largest military base in the U.S. was named after a guy with confederate roots. Well, George Washington owned slaves so should we change the capital from Washington DC to some other city? Should the name of every place that has any kind of bad history automatically be renamed? Where does it end? Bragg has been Bragg for a long time and it should remain Ft. Bragg. Anyone who says anything different should just shut the hell up and go back to their safe place to suck their thumbs and cuddle with their blanket. Hell, I”m starting to sound like a Democrat, but this political correctness bullshit annoys me. Worry about things that actually matter. The name of Ft. Bragg, it doesn’t. Get over it. Oh vey!
Do black lives really matter to the founders of BLM?
Only when it’s politically expedient and fits their narrative and arguments. The people dying in Chicago or New York City each weekend due to black on black crime, that doesn’t matter. The half-million babies that are aborted each year by black women, those black lives don’t matter. It’s only what they can use to advance their agendas. Everything else is just a statistic and inconsequential so far as the BLM powers-that-be are concerned.
