We made it through August. So far, so good. Now it’s September and the more things change, the more they stay the same. Or do they? It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A and we’ve got some fantastic questions to attempt to answer. So, are you ready? Let’s do this…

Brock Lesnar is a free agent and currently not under contract to WWE. Thoughts?

This isn’t the first time this has happened and it probably won’t be the last. Brock’s contract expired and he’s doing like he always does, looking at his options and holding out for the most money possible. I doubt AEW can afford him and his other options are there, such as UFC, but I doubt Dana White is going to fork up the money Brock will probably be asking for either. The negotiations will continue with WWE and probably at some point around Rumble time, we’ll hear that distinct music again and hear Cory Graves scream out, “Here comes the pain! He’s back!”. Watch and see.

Thoughts on Mauro Ranallo leaving WWE?

Mauro is a fantastic commentator and his passion was evident with every match he called, but between his other announcing jobs and his own personal issues, something had to eventually give and I guess wrestling and NXT were it for now. He’ll be fine, WWE will be fine, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him back at something like NXT 1000 or maybe the pre-Wrestlemania Takeover.

Rey Mysterio is injured… again. Did WWE make the right move in resigning him to a new deal?

I still have my doubts about that, but to be honest, I’ve never been a big Rey fan anyhow. I know he’s popular and sells a ton of merchandise so WWE was probably considering that as well as his in-ring roles. And now they got Dominick out of the deal as well. I guess if WWE is making more money then they’ve invested, it was a good move. Not one I’d have made, but it seems for WWE anyhow, it’s probably best for business.

Should AEW sign Ace Romero?

I love me some Acey Baby and I wouldn’t be opposed to seeing him turn up every so often in AEW, but right now, the roster is getting kind of bloated and there’s a lot of dead weight so unless they have a role ready and a position for Ace to fill, I’d hold off on actually signing him to a deal.

Name something or someone Vince McMahon can’t win against?

Father Time. Vince is starting to show his age a bit and even though for a man in his mid-seventies, he looks great, he’s still a man in his mid-seventies. I think Larry Zbyszko said it best many years ago at a WCW Slamboree event. “Time only fears the pyramids and the legends of professional wrestling!”. And that quote really doesn’t apply here, but I wanted to use it. The bottom line, Vince is getting old and time is catching up with the Genetic Jackhammer. He has to plan accordingly as a result.

Which former world champion free agent should AEW pick up?? Brock Lesnar or David Arquette?

AEW wouldn’t be able to afford Brock, nor do I think he would sign with them regardless of how much money they offer. Arquette on the other hand has a new documentary to promote. He’s become a competent in-ring performer and I can see far more options with David, being a former WCW World Champion. If I was Tony Khan and AEW, that’s something and someone I would look into.

The Iiconics have been split up as a tag team. Thoughts?

I guess that WWE has plans for one of them to get a singles push and figure that as a team, they’ve done as much as they can. Eh! Who cares. I keep forgetting they’re even on the roster. I like their promos and “bad girls” schtick, but Bayley and Sasha seem to have taken over that role. Maybe this will work out for the two women and we’ll see some singles success for both of them. And if not, they can always reteam down the road. No biggie.

Are you interested in seeing Asuka feud with Mickie James?

Asuka is the Empress and the best thing currently in WWE and Mickie is a true legend and pretty damn amazing in her own right. A rivalry between these two would be a beautiful thing to behold. I’d absolutely enjoy seeing it happen.
