Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Eva Marie, The Wyatt Family, Miro & More
September 10, 2020
It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this…
Dungeon of Doom versus The Oddities. Who wins?
Talk about a real freak show of a match, this would certainly qualify. Let’s determine who would be wrestling first. The Dungeon would be Kevin Sullivan, Kamala, The Shark (John Tenta), Zodiac (Brutus Beefcake), The Giant, Jimmy Hart, and Meng. Other members came and went, but these are the ones I remember best. As for the Oddities, we’d have Luna Vachon, Kurgan, Giant Silva, Golga (Also John Tenta), The Jackyl (Don Callis), George “The Animal” Steele, and the Insane Clown Posse. Sable was a part of the Oddies too, but I don’t like Sable so she’s out of this match. It’d be a crazy cluster of a match and would have to be like an elimination-style Battle Royal to handle all the talent involved. And the Dungeon, with the Giant leading the way, would win. No doubt in my mind about that.
There are rumors that Eva Marie may be returning to WWE and Smackdown. Thoughts?
Eva Marie was an interesting character in that due to the nature of her push, she had incredible heat, yet I don’t remember her ever actually wrestling a match on TV. Can she actually perform in that ring? We have no idea, but there are rumors that Vince is interested in bringing her back to WWE and Smackdown. I would say go for it because she can’t be any worse than Lana and even if she can’t wrestle, she does have that “it” about her and could be placed with a wrestler as a manager/valet and help get someone else over. They may as well give it a shot. What does WWE have to lose?
There are rumors that Bray Wyatt will soon be revealing a new “Wyatt Family” with Alexa Bliss (as Sister Abigail), Bo Dallas, Braun Strowman & Abyss, who currently works as an agent for WWE, as the new members. Thoughts?
I actually like this line-up and the addition of Abyss, a former TNA/Impact star who now works backstage at WWE under his real name, Christopher Parks, would make a good addition. No one does “creepy” better than Bo and Braun as a singles star has been less than great. It’s time to start over and get back to what worked, Bray as the crazy cult leader with a deranged group of followers who are all dangerous in their own right.
Gerald Brisco & Mike Rotundo were both officially released from the WWE earlier today. Thoughts?
Brisco has been part of the WWE since the early ’80s and Rotundo has been working there for over sixteen years so this is a bit of a shocker. But both were furloughed earlier this year so it’s not really a surprise. I assumed that Rontuno was safe due to his sons being on the roster, but I guess no one is really safe. I could see Rotundo going to work as an agent for AEW or Impact, while Brisco stated that he’ll still be around so I suspect that while this job has ended, he’ll still be working for WWE in some fashion, although maybe not officially. Best of luck to both men though. I’m sure we haven’t seen the last of either of them.
Miro (Rusev) is now All Elite and signed with AEW (and aligned with Kip Sabian). Thoughts?
I’m glad to see Miro back on television and with AEW. It was a surprise, but a good one. And he started with AEW on Miro Day. Imagine that. Now we’ll get to see him play off Kip Sabian for a bit and find his place on the AEW roster. This is a good thing though.
Possible match-ups for Miro. Who would you like to see him run against? Go after the TNT title?
I expect his first feud will end up being against Sabian or maybe Brian Pillman Jr. to get settled into the promotion. After that, I think he’d match up well against Lance Archer or even Jericho. As for the TNT title, I don’t think that he and Brodie Lee ever crossed paths in WWE, so what the hell. Book it, Tony Khan.
Santino Marella says that he’d be interested in coming back to wrestling as a commentator. Should WWE give him a chance?
There are too many people doing commentary in both WWE and AEW at the moment, but still, a good talker is hard to find and I’m sure that Santino would be a good color guy if given the chance. I’d rather see Aiden English brought back, or showing up in AEW at the side of Miro for “Miro Day”, but Santino could be good too. Give him a shot and if it works, find him a spot. I think there’s an opening where that Renee Young chick used to be.
How would you rate Mr. Fuji as a wrestler and as a manager?
As a wrestler, he was never my taste because the kicks and chops style looked too fake to me. I liked the tag team with Mr. Saito as they were aligned with Captain Lou Albano, but that was more because of the Captain than either wrestler. As a manager, I liked him slightly better. He wasn’t a great manager, but his alliance with Don Muraco was incredible and had some fantastic moments (Fuji Vice anyone?). And working with Demolition and Yokozuna cemented his legacy as a true WWE iconic manager. He will never be in my Top 5 of managers or wrestlers, but I respect the man and what he accomplished during his illustrious career.
Should the Masked Superstar be in the WWE Hall of Fame?
Bill Eadie was one of the original Mongols and had a great career in that role. Then he became the Masked Superstar and cemented himself as one of the greatest masked wrestlers of all time. And then, for the hat trick, he took the name of Ax and formed Demolition with Smash and Crush. So does he belong in the WWE Hall of Fame? Absolutely! Bad blood with the company has prevented it thus far from happening, but his deserving of a spot, no one can deny.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions you’d like to see answered here, about wrestling or anything at all, drop me a line and let’s chat. Until the next time, take care of yourself and watch out for the crazies. Don’t forget to support your local wrestling promotions and wrestlers. I’ll see you at the matches.
