Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Elias, Melina, Trent’s Mom & More
September 20, 2020
It’s Sunday and you know what that means? I’m playing catch-up with all of the wrestling-related questions currently sitting in my inbox. These are from Cheese and Floyd C. Let’s do this…
Where is Elias?
Elias is currently out of action with an injury, a torn pec muscle, that he suffered in May during a match with Baron Corbin on Smackdown. He’s expected to be out of action for six to nine months.
Do you think a second encounter between Vince McMahon and Donald Trump would be entertaining?
Would it be entertaining? Absolutely! Will it ever happen again on WWE TV? I seriously doubt it. President Trump is far too polarizing a figure and I can’t see Vince taking the chance of alienating half his fan base with an appearance by Trump. Plus both men, Vince and Trump, are far older now and aside from talking, would be extremely limited in what they could do. Better to just have the memories than to try to recreate the magic and do it again.
Melina Perez has allegedly signed back with the WWE, although she’s now denying it. Do you think she’s resigned with the company and if so, what are your thoughts about that?
She says she hasn’t, but I also remember Edge and John Morrison saying the exact same thing when they, in fact, had signed new deals with WWE. I trust Mike Johnson and PWInsider and their track record is far more reliable than Meltzer or Keller. As for my thoughts about Melina back in WWE, she’s a good wrestler and strong personality and much like Mickie James, adds a lot to the Women’s Division, especially with Charlotte, Ronda, and Becky Lynch all currently out of action. So good for her. Let’s see how this goes.
Is Trent’s Mom (Sue) in AEW the next Judy Bagwell?
Thus far, I like the inclusion of Sue into the Best Friends characters and stories. She adds to the characters and seems pretty cool. If they start putting her in matches and giving her title belts like WCW stupidly did with Judy Bagwell, my thoughts may change, but so far, she’s been a plus for AEW and her son’s career.
Would you like to see Ryback (Ryan Reeves) as part of AEW?
Who’s better than MJF?
Not many, but I think that Sammy Guevera is slightly more well rounded and more of an asset to AEW at the moment. But both men are heads and tails far better than anyone else on the AEW roster so far as their characters and just having that “it” going on.
Where is Alicia Fox?
From all reports, Fox is currently on hiatus from the world of professional wrestling, dealing with her problems with alcoholism, and attending school. WWE has moved her profile into the Alumni section, but if she is still under contract to WWE, I have no idea. I’ve never seen any kind of notice about an official release so she may still be under a WWE deal. Does anyone know for sure?
What draws you to a local show?
Mainly my work schedule and the location. If I’m not working (rare) and it’s within a twenty or so mile radius, I’ll try to attend. The company running the show and their reputation matters too. I know if it’s CAGE or APW, it’ll be a good show. If it’s a new group, I won’t be so sure. And finally, who is working the show. I am fortunate to have friendships with and know many of the local Independent talents in this area and I like to support my friends and watch them do their thing. I know if The Movement, the Atlantic Coast Destruction Crew, or Carolina Kidd is on the show, I’m going to have a good time and be entertained. I just want to support the local guys and see a good show.
