Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
FTR, Lars Sullivan, Yahoo Groups & More
October 13, 2020
It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Send me some questions. Let’s do this.
Orange Cassidy at full power versus Thanos with Infinity Gauntlet versus Batman versus Chuck Norris versus Ultra Instinct Goku. Who wins?
Batman. As for why and how he’s Batman. What more reason do you need?
Should AEW have a Hall of Fame?
I think, with only a year in operation, it’s too soon for AEW to worry about things like a Hall of Fame. If they want to do it somewhere down the line, they already have a great Hall of Fame class on the roster with Tully Blanchard, Arn Anderson, DDP, Vickie Guerrero, Taz, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, and Chris Jericho. But as I said, this should not be a major priority for the company at this point and time.
Do you think FTR is regretting their decision to sign with AEW?
The decision to leave WWE? Probably not. The decision to go to AEW and have to deal with stupidity like being photoshopped as hot dogs and no quality opponents or tag teams to compete against? Probably..
Best spine -buster? Arn Anderson, Ron Simmons, or Triple H?
Ron just powers the opponent down and it’s brutal, but I wouldn’t call it a spine-buster. HHH is damn good, but he’s just paying homage to the Enforcer. The best will always be the one the first, the one as performed by Arn Anderson.
Would you ever like to see wrestling as a whole have an off-season (1-2 months off)?
I think the rosters are big enough for each of the major companies that it wouldn’t be hard to give the wrestlers ample time off as needed. Maybe a week a month and then a full six-week period during the course of the year. It would help avoid major injuries, burnout by the wrestlers, and improve morale a great deal. It’s something that companies like AEW, WWE, and Impact should look into.
Lars Sullivan is allegedly in trouble again, this time for harassing a woman on Instagram. Thoughts?
I think Lars is his own worst enemy and doesn’t know when to behave. After the homophobic and racist remarks were revealed in the earlier scandal, I was surprised that he kept his job with WWE. Then came the adult-movie revelations and I was sure that he was hanging on by a thread, but I assumed that WWE didn’t want to release him due to his injuries. Now he’s back less than two weeks and already in trouble again? I know that Vince is high on him and he’s the kind of monster that McMahon likes to push, but I honestly think his days are limited and he’s on borrowed time.
Would a General Manager benefit the AEW shows? If so who would you pick?
I tend to feel that the whole concept of a General Manager is outdated and stale, but it would make sense to have an authority figure of some kind. Make their appearances rare and only when absolutely necessary and it would probably benefit the company and give things more of a reason to happen and not happen. As for who, I’d stay away from characters who have been there and done that like Bischoff, Vickie Guerrero, Teddy Long, etc. I’d throw a swerve and have someone who is respected and will create a stir but isn’t from the usual gang of idiots. How about former NWA/WCW referee Nick Patrick? Or even Tommy Young? A former referee represents law and order and obeying the rules, right?
Yahoo has announced that they’re shutting Yahoo Groups. Were you a part of any of the wrestling groups at Yahoo? Memories?
I was a part of several groups, most notably, the DXSI (DX-Suck It) group. I was a moderator (still am actually) and we had about 1900 members. It was a great time and I met many incredible people as a result of my interactions in those groups, many of who I am still friends with on Facebook today. I also managed to meet Penny Banner, Ann Casey, Brian Adams, and Bryan Clark through the Yahoo groups and that was indeed an honor for me. It was a great time and I met many great people. RIP DXSI and groups of Yahoo. You will be missed.
Who will beat Cage for the FTR title?
The person that pins him for the three counts to capture the title. I would think Ricky Starks.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions you’d like to see answered in a future Q&A, feel free to give me a should and ask away. I need questions. Until the next time, take care of yourself, and don’t forget to give support to your local Independent Wrestling companies and wrestlers. Watch out for the crazies and I’ll see you at the matches.
