Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Griff Garrison, Jerry Lawler, Sam Roberts & More
October 15, 2020
Welcome to the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Time is short today so let’s skip the introductions and get to right to it. Let’s do this…
Who the f*ck is Griff Garrison?
Griff is one of the mid-card performers currently in AEW and a regular contributor to Sammy Guevera’s Vlog. He looks like a plus-sized version of Jungle Boy and is currently working towards what would be a fun Vlog feud with Marko Stunt, all for the friendship of Sammy. Aside from all of that, I have no idea. He just sort of showed up, but he seems like a good guy, willing to laugh at himself and be entertaining. I like the kid. And if you want any more information, go to Wikipedia and look him up. And there you go.
Do you think we are at the point where we have exhausted all the good pro wrestling autobiographies? I can’t think of five who would be compelling right about now?
Then you’re not thinking hard enough because there are literally hundreds of performers that haven’t told their stories yet and would be fascinating to read about. How about Lisa Moretti, aka Ivory. From GLOW to the WWE to the Hall of Fame and everywhere in-between? What about Tommy Dreamer? Raven? New Jack? Jim Cornette? Steve “Mongo” McMichael and his journey to the NFL and then to WCW and being a member of the Horsemen? Dean Malenko? Tommy Young and his life as a referee in the NWA? The names that I can come up with and would make for compelling autobiographies are endless. I’ve barely scratched the surface so the stories are out there. They just need to be told.
I saw Jerry Lawler wrestled recently. Why is he wrestling during a pandemic?
Because he’s an entertainer and a wrestler and loves to perform in front of a crowd doing what he does best. So long as he’s taking the proper precautions and being tested regularly, I don’t see the problem.
The WWE Network is giving Sam Roberts a weekly series. Why? Thoughts?
I don’t get why either, but Roberts is a popular podcaster and a regular on the Kickoff Shows so I guess he and WWE decided to expand on that and take it to the next level. He loves wrestling and is a loyal fan so what the hell. Go for it, WWE.
WWE is bringing back the “Spin The Wheel – Make The Deal” gimmick for NXT and Halloween Havoc. Thoughts?
I always enjoyed the Spin The Wheel gimmick with WCW and I’m happy to see WWE bring it back. It will make things more unpredictable for the fans at the Havoc event and it’s cool to see past concepts being used again. I’m excited to see how things work out.
The Great Khali versus Keith Lee. Who wins?
Keith Lee would win. And Khali would probably hurt someone with that clumsy chop of his. And the fans would all groan and want to rip their eyes out in disgust at such a lousy match. Where is Melina versus Alicia Fox when you need them?
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions, feel free to drop me a line. Take care of yourself and I’ll catch you on the flip side. Have a great one.
