Ultimate Wrestling Q&A: Eddie Guerrero, The Bella Twins, Hulk Hogan & More…

Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Eddie Guerrero, The Bella Twins, Hulk Hogan & More
November 17, 2020

It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. It’s Tuesday. Lets do this.

Thoughts on Linda Miles?

I actually don’t have many thoughts on Ms. Miles. She won Tough Enough, sharing the crown with Nidia, played a Dominitrix type character for a cup of coffee in WWE, and then kind of vanished from the scene. I remember her, but she didn’t do enough in my eyes to leave any kind of lasting impression.

What did you think about Zelina Vega’s release from the WWE?

I think WWE may have opened a can of worms that was best left closed. Vega was fired from the WWE after refusing to shut down her OnlyFans account, a site that she did not promote, used her real name, did not have anything at all to do with WWE or her character, and allegedly brings her more money than her WWE contract did. WWE is pushing it, in my opinion, with their demands to take over third-party accounts held by their superstars, who are not employees, but “independent contractors”. Vega called them on their bluff and to set an example for the rest of the WWE roster, they fired her. But Bruce Pritchard still has a podcast? Hypocritical much? Vega has already been contacted by people like Andrew Yang, and this is not going to go away or end well for the WWE. I think Vega is right here and more power to her.

Should the Bella Twins make one more run in the WWE?

While it would be interesting to see and WWE does need some tag teams in the Women’s Division, I wonder if they could do it physically. Both Bellas have well documented physical problems and injuries that would make climbing into the ring iffy at best. Better in my opinion to continue to serve as Ambassadors for the WWE and do the reality shows than risk permanent injury with one last run.

Any favorite memories of Eddie Guerrero who passed away 15 years ago?

When I think of Eddie, I think of the smirk. The incident where he faked getting hit by a chair (which was recreated by MJF/Jericho at Full Gear) was classic. And of course, that WWE title win over Brock Lesnar was a moment that none of us can ever forget. The feud with JBL was great as well.

What did you think of Sasha Banks’s acting role in “The Mandalorian”?

To be honest, I haven’t seen it. I’ve heard that her role, while small, was well done and she did great in the job, but that’s only what I’ve heard. I’ll see it eventually.

Did you enjoy the Paul Bearer special on WWE Network?

Again, I haven’t seen it yet. I haven’t had the time, but maybe I’ll get around to it this upcoming weekend. We’ll see.

Are Bret Hart & Kurt Angle equals? If not, who has the edge?

In terms of charisma and showmanship, it’s definitely all Angle. In terms of pure talent and in-ring ability, I’ll give the edge to Hart. And in terms of having a fantastic career and being a true legend and icon, it’s really too close to call for me. Both men had great careers, did some amazing things in that ring, and set the mark for all wrestlers that followed. I’ll give the slight edge to Angle since he did do one thing that Bret can’t match. He won a gold medal with a broken freakin’ neck. So Angle gets the edge.

Do you think Hulk Hogan would have ever accepted a “lesser” role in a stable, ala Ric Flair in Evolution to help prolong his career a little bit more?

I think it would be interesting to see Hulk in a secondary role with a faction, but to be honest, I don’t think Hogan could or would do it. After being the top guy for so long, and having that ego for so long, I can’t see Hogan allowing anyone else to have the spotlight for long at his expense. He might be able for a little bit, but eventually, that need to be “the man” and the focus of attention would take over and Hulkamania would have to run wild instead.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts or questions you’d like to see answered, just give me a shout and we’ll do it. Until the next time, take care of yourself and be safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
