Tossing Salt Presents:
A Day Of Dougie
The Grinch, Big Butts & Showtime Pizza
December 7, 2020

Good morning and welcome to another very special edition of A Day Of Dougie. And why is this one so special? I’m glad you asked. Because this is the prequel, the kick-off show if you will, to the “12 Days of Christmas: Dougie Style”. Or maybe it’s the “12 Days of Dougie Christmas” series? I haven’t decided for sure yet, but it begins on Thursday, December 10, 2020, where for twelve days straight, there will be a new “Day of Dougie” every single day. We also will have leaping lords, milking maids, and five golden rings somewhere amid all the chaos. So this is the warm-up and then the fun really begins. Are you ready? I said, ARE YOU READY? It seems so much easier when DX says it on WWE TV.

So that all begins on Thursday. Watch for it. As for today, it’s just the usual reach into the Magic Bag, pull out some topics at random, and write. Yeah, it’s a dirty job, but someone has to do it. So where is my Magic Bag at? And the topics are The Grinch, Big Butts, and Showtime Pizza. The memories are already starting to churn so let’s do this. And away we go.

The Grinch…

We all know the story about the Grinch. A great cartoon, voiced over by Boris Karloff of all people, and then a so-so movie, starring Jim Carey as the Grinch. He is a bad creature, colored green and an attitude from hell who wants to stop Christmas from coming. He wants to make poor Cindy Lou Who cry. But things backfire, his heart grows bigger, and he turns into a cool dude who decides that being good isn’t so bad after all. The book was written in 1957 by Dr. Seuss and the cartoon and movie followed a few years later. Oh yeah, and the Grinch had a cool little dog named Max. That poor little pup. And blah, blah, blah. You guys know the story so why am I continuing to talk about it? Here’s a video by Dweezil & Ahmet Zappa, Frank’s kids, from an appearance on the Conan O’Brien show performing the Grinch song. It rocks. Enjoy because now, I’m moving on.

Big Butts…

I like big butts and I can not lie. Round and firm, a great ass will attract my eyes every single time. Male or female, if you got a bubble-shaped bottom, I’m going to notice. And fantasize, more about the males than the females. I’m gay so that’s what I do. But let me be perfectly clear (as former President Obama would say). Did you know he likes butts too? He’s gay but just more closeted about it. Just saying. I mean look at Michelle? If you had to look at that every day, you’d probably turn gay too. Woof! Now, what was I saying? Oh yeah, butts. I like them big. I like them small. I like them on short guys. I like guys who are tall. Clean and freshly showered, wiggle them my way. I really like butts, every night and every day. And now that I’ve recited random butt poetry to you, let’s wrap this up.

Showtime Pizza…

It was the hang-out spot for all guys and girls of Scotland County in the mid-80s. Located on Main Street, next to Haneys Tire, this was the place to go. Video machines and pizza. And for those who liked to dance and get a little more intimate, there was the Upper Deck, the upstairs where Ken had an office and where Pat Cooper could usually be found in the DJ booth playing some music for the masses. I met so many of my friends there and when not working or at Alex Debnam’s house, we would be gathered up at Showtime just chillaxin’. Good pizza and great subs and yes, they delivered. I’ve got so many memories and stories from Showtime, most of which can not be shared as of yet due to the statute of limitations and people still being alive and having families. Suffice it to say, it was a special place. I met some amazing and extraordinary people there and developed friendships and relationships that will last forever.

And I’m going to leave it there. It’s time now to get ready for work. It’s Monday. Bleh! So thanks for reading and sharing these memories and moments with me. Any comments, questions, or thoughts, feel free to give me a shout. Until the next time, take care and watch out for the crazies. I’ll see you on the flip side. Don’t forget, 12 Days starts Thursday. Have a great one.
