Tossing Salt Presents:
Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill
Thoughts & Predictions
January 16, 2021
DougMaynard.com
Coming up tonight on pay-per-view and FITE TV is Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill event. I almost forgot about it, but luckily I remembered in time to do some quick predictions. Are you ready? Let’s go.
Six-Man Tag Main Event
Rich Swann, Chris Sabin & Moose vs. Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers
Moose is replacing Alex Shelley, who was pulled from the event a few days ago. And guess what? It’s not going to matter. This is all about the Bullet Club’s former members and their new/old partnership that transcends both Impact and AEW. Omega and The Good Brothers win.
Winners: Kenny Omega & The Good Brothers (Gallows & Anderson)
Knockouts Championship
Deonna Purrazzo (C) vs.Taya Valkyrie
Is it time for a new champion? I like Taya, but it’s Deonna’s time to shine. She’s going to keep her title and live to fight another day.
Winner and STILL Impact Knockouts Champion: Deonna Purrazzo
Knockouts Tag Team Championship (Vacant Titles)
Havok & Nevaeh vs. Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz
It’s anyone’s game here as we’re getting new champions regardless of who wins and loses. My mind says Havok & Nevaeh, but my gut says never bet against a wrestler named Hogan, even if it’s not the Hulkster version.
Winners and NEW Knockouts Tag Team Champions: Kiera Hogan & Tasha Steelz
X-Division Championship (Triple Threat Match)
Manik (C) vs. Chris Bey vs. Rohit Raju
I think that Manik’s new reign will be short and sweet. Chris Bey wins and becomes the new champion.
Winner and NEW X-Division Champion: Chris Bey
Six-Man Tag Team Match (Old School Rules)
Eric Young, Deaner & Joe Doering vs. Cousin Jake, Rhino & Tommy Dreamer
I think this is the dark horse match of the night and will probably blow the roof off the arena. When is the last time Tommy Dreamer won a match? He won’t win here either. All money is on EY as he leads his team to victory.
Winners: Eric Young, Deaner & Joe Doering
Barbed Wire Massacre
Eddie Edwards vs. Sami Callihan
Blood, chaos, and insanity. My gut says Edwards so…
Winner: Eddie Edwards
Singles Match
The Karate Man vs. Ethan Page
Wax on – wax off. I’m not sure, but I think I remember reading somewhere that Page is leaving Impact Wrestling when his contract ends. I’m not sure about that, but I watched a few clips from the original Karate Kid on YouTube a few days ago. It was a sign.
Winner: The Karate Man
Mixed Tag-Team Match
Rosemary & Crazzy Steve s. Tenille Dashwood & Kaleb with a K
I like Rosemary and Crazzy Steve. They’re nuts.
Winners: Rosemary & Crazzy Steve
Singles Match
Brian Myers vs. Josh Alexander
Brian Myers is an inspiration for wrestling fans everywhere. I wish he & Ryder would get back together in some manner. I still have my t-shirts. But all that being said, he’s going to lose here tonight.
Winner: Josh Alexander
And there you go. Sorry this is so short and brief, but it is what it is and time is quickly running out for me. I have to go to work. Watch the show and check out Impact Wrestling when you can. Thanks for reading. Comments and thoughts are welcome. Until the next time, take care of yourself and be safe.
