Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Ivelisse, Mike Tyson, Flair vs Bret & More
April 15, 2021
I go to the doctor and then take a nap, sleep for an hour, and then wake up to find all hell has broken loose in the WWE with the release of nine WWE superstars. Wow! I’ll have something up before the day ends about this breaking news. For now, let’s knock out a quick edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Kurt Angle says that he wants to wrestle an Ironman Match against Bret Hart and that some promoter should “book it”. Thoughts?
I doubt that Bret could pass any kind of physical and be cleared for a wrestling match right now and even if he could, it’s been how many years since the “Excellence Of Execution” stepped into a ring to perform? Bret is sixty-three years old and hasn’t wrestled since 2011. Kurt is 52 years old and was wrestling for WWE just a couple of years ago. Kurt is just jacking his jaws and running his mouth. This match will never happen and is just Kurt talking to be talking, nothing more.
Who will be the next TNT champion?
The person who beats Darby Allin, that’s who. I like Brian Cage as a potential future champion and wouldn’t a Sammy Guevera match against Allin be fun to see at some point? Right now though, I think Cage or maybe even Matt Hardy have the best odds of being next to win that title.
Thoughts on Ivelisse’s release from AEW?
She complains about being treated badly and got released. It happened in NXT and now it’s happened again in AEW, a company that seemingly releases no one and everyone is so happy to be a part of it. What’s the common factor here? I had to look up to see who she is and to be honest, I don’t know enough about the situation to comment about it aside to say that I really don’t care.
Thoughts on Mike Tyson “joining” the Inner Circle?
It’s publicity and it’s pretty cool. Now we just wait to see if Tyson will be a part of AEW and the Inner Circle in the days to come or was he just there for one day and we’ll not see him again for a year or so? I guess it doesn’t matter. It’s Mike Tyson, he’s All-Elite and part of Jericho’s group, at least until Chris and friends turn on him and he knocks them out.
It looks as if Paul Wight may end up wrestling in AEW under the “Captain Insano” character/gimmick from the movie Water Boy. Thoughts?
I think if he can get rights to the name and approval from Adam Sandler, whose Happy Gilmore Production company probably owns the rights to the character, and if Wight wants to use it as part of his gimmick and character, then so be it. What the hell. Go for it! It could be fun to see and since Wight can’t be the Big Show anymore, why not Captain Insano? It’s kind of catchy.
If you could put together a Survivor Series team of any 5 wrestlers, from any combinations of eras or promotions, who would they be?
I’d put my favorites of all time together just to see them all at once. That would be Ole Anderson, The Masked Superstar, Bobby Eaton, Larry Zbyszko, and Harley Race with Jim Cornette and Lisa “Ivory” Moretti at ringside as the team manager and valet. Five true iconic legends with the greatest manager of all time and my favorite female performer of all time along for the ride. They would totally kick-ass and be awesome.
Who was the GOAT between Flair and Bret?
I’m sure that some would disagree but this isn’t really a question to me. Hart was a great wrestler and had one hell of a run with the WWF, but when you look at the all-around package and entire career, there is only one GOAT of professional wrestling and that will always be the kiss-stealing, wheeling-dealing, jet flying, limousine riding, Nature Boy Ric Flair. ‘Nuff said!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions about wrestling or anything at all for that matter, feel free and drop me a line. I’ll be back shortly with more stuff. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
