Let’s talk wrestling. It’s time for the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Who would win in a legit shoot fight between Ron Simmons in his prime and Brock Lesnar? How about Meng (Haku) in his prime and Brock?
Both men would be feeling the lumps, but I think Brock has a few advantages over Ron, given his amateur and MMA background, plus Brock is so damn big. Brock would win over Ron. As for Brock and Meng, Brock is bigger, stronger, more trained in the art of combat, etc, but it’s Meng. He’s crazy. Meng wins.
Are you ready to see Jinder Mahal back in action in the WWE?
I am looking forward to Jinder’s return and would love to see him in a program against Drew McIntyre for starters. Jinder is money, period.
Mauro Ranallo is scheduled to work Impact Wrestling’s upcoming Rebellion pay-per-view. Thoughts?
It’s cool because Ranallo is a good announcer, definitely better than anyone currently on the Impact roster, and it adds to the show by making things seem special by bringing in a big name to call the action. It allows Mauro to keep a foot in the wrestling business and makes the casual fan who may remember Mauro from his NXT days more inclined to tune in and watch the show. It’s a good move by Impact Wrestling.
WWE released multiple stars. Which one do you like to see in AEW?
Ten names were released by WWE and while I think all will do fine and rebound, they can’t all go to AEW. And the ones that I think would have the most success and be most likely to be contacted by Tony Khan would be Samoa Joe, Billie Kay & Peyton Royce, and Bo Dallas. The rest, I’d say ROH or Impact are more likely prospects, but for AEW, those are the names I’d be watching out for come around late July and August.
Thoughts on Corey Graves moving over to RAW and Pat McAfee taking his spot as an announcer for Smackdown?
So far as McAfee goes, based on his first night as part of the Smackdown announce team, he did a great job and it looks like it will be a great move to give Michael Cole a big assist and make him more bearable. Corey is good wherever he is working, but with this new guy, who is awful, and Byron Saxton to carry each week, I think Corey’s back is going to be hurting from having to carry those two each week.
Which 2 WWE female wrestlers do you think could put on a 25+ minute classic together?
I think most of the females currently on the WWE main roster could easily pull off a good half hour of action, but the matches I’d like to see that I know would deliver would involve Charlotte, Asuka, Bayley, Becky Lynch, and Carmella.
Does Big Dick Johnson belong in the WWE Hall of Fame?
He deserves it more than Great Khali or James Dudley, but I would have to say no to this one. Maybe he could dance in a cage at one of the shows. That would be funny but as a solo performer? Again, I would definitely say no.
Would you like to see WWE Superstars appear on the John Cena series “Wipeout”? And which WWE performers would you like to see if it was to happen?
If Cena’s show was on any other network aside from TBS, I think a special episode with WWE talent would probably be in the works and we’d be hearing about it already. But with it being aired on a Turner station, especially with AEW as part of the Turner family, I don’t see it happening. As for who I’d like to see tackling the obstacle course, how about Charlotte Flair, Ricochet, Kofi Kingston, Angelo Dawkins, Bianca Belair, and maybe a few other of the younger, more athletic WWE talents.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions about wrestling or anything at all, feel free to use the comment box or else drop me a line. Until the next time, take care and stay safe. Don’t forget to support your local Indy wrestling and wrestlers. I’ll see you at the matches.
