Thoughts & Predictions

Tonight on TNT, All Elite Wrestling is holding a special edition of AEW Dynamite featuring the (Don’t Call It A War Games) Blood & Guts match between the Inner Circle and The Pinnacle. It’s going to be history in the making and I have no doubt, a true slobber-knocker of an event. And yes, we will see some blood and guts over the course of the evening. Of that, I have no doubt. Five matches have been announced for the event. Let’s make a few predictions.
AEW Blood & Guts Match
The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevera, Jake Hagar, Santana & Ortiz) versus The Pinnacle (MJF, Wardlow, Shawn Spears, Cash Wheeler, & Dax Harwood) w/ Tully Blanchard
This is a tough call because generally in the history of War Games matches, the faces win. That’s how it’s always been done and I kind of suspect that AEW will keep with tradition and we’ll see a traditional Inner Circle victory here, but the Pinnacle is new and so damn awesome, how can they lose? And they have one of the original Horsemen, the men for who the match was created, in their corner. It’s a tough call, but I’ll be traditional here and let’s give Jericho and friends a big win. And the man who takes the fall and costs his team the match, probably Wardlow, will be Zbyszko’ed and get a beatdown by The Pinnacle for his screw-up. Sounds like a plan to me.
Winners: The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho, Sammy Guevera, Santana, Ortiz, and Jake Hagar)
Cody Rhodes (with Arn Anderson) vs. QT Marshall (with Nick Comoroto, Anthony Ogogo, and Aaron Solow)
Is this the time that Double-A finally turns on Cody and shows the real Anderson that he truly is? I’m actually liking this and it’s good to be seeing QT Marshall get some TV time as a heel. Cody should win, but QT has the numbers game and I’m just having a feeling that Arn would rather be with Tully & friends than playing Coach to someone who rarely listens, Cody. I’ll go with QT on this one.
Winner: QT Marshall
Kenny Omega and MT Nakazawa (with Don Callis) vs. Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston.
Nakazawa will not be on the winning side of a match. He’ll take a beating, get pinned, and then be cast aside until he can properly make it up to Omega & Callis. So I have said and so it shall be.
Winners: Jon Moxley & Eddie Kingston
Britt Baker (with Rebel) vs. TBA
So who will the big surprise be? Is Mickie cleared from her no-compete to show up yet? How about Tessa? Maybe she’s driving up from Mexico to see her dad and pop the fans. Doesn’t matter really. Britt will not face anyone she’s expecting to face and it will be a chaotic moment of entertainment that will officially result in a no-contest as the match will never actually take place.
No Contest – No Winner or Decision
SoCal Uncensored (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) vs. Jurassic Express (Jungle Boy and Luchasaurus) vs. Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) vs. The Acclaimed (Anthony Bowens and Max Caster).
The Jurassic Express are the definite favorites here, but something is telling me that The Varsity Blondes may end up having their big moment in the sun here tonight. It’s all about the War Games and that means it’s all about the Horsemen and since Pillman’s dad was a Horseman, I think he’ll get a little extra rub for the evening.
Winners: The Varsity Blondes (Griff Garrison & Brian Pillman Jr.)
And there you go, my predictions for tonight. It should be an excellent edition of AEW Dynamite and I’m looking forward to it. Thoughts, comments, questions, and any predictions of your own, let me know what is on your mind. My thanks for reading. And with that, it’s time to go to work. Have a great day and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
