Thoughts on Lord Steven Regal?

Lord Regal, aka William Regal is a wrestling legend and one of the best in-ring performers of all time. A great talker and promo guy, Regal was definitely one of the best heels of his era, as well as one of the best technical wrestlers. A master of facial expressions, Regal could say so much by never saying a word, but instead just that look on his face. For anyone who wants to learn about the psychology of wrestling, watch old tapes of this man. I also feel that Regal is a definite future Hall of Famer and probably the only reason he never held the WWE or World Championship was because of his personal demons, a battle he seems to have won as he’s been a scout for and the on-air General Manager for NXT pretty much since it’s inception. I can’t say anything bad about this man. He’s an icon and (with all apologies to Zbyszko), a living legend in every sense of the word.

Mark Henry has joined AEW as an announcer. Thoughts?

It’s a good move for Mark since WWE didn’t really have any plans for him and he wanted to move on and continue with his career, taking it to the next level. From what I understand, he’s been friends with AEW Owner Tony Kahn for many years and a conversation led to a job offer and now Mark Henry is All Elite. It’s a loss for the WWE for sure and I’m happy for Mark Henry. More money and a chance to help out and work doing what he loves. Definitely a win-win for all parties involved.

Now that Lio Rush is All Elite, who would you like to see him feud with first?

Lio may have appeared at the pay-per-view for AEW, but he announced the following day that he’s signed with New Japan Pro Wrestling. His contract with NJPW will allow him to work dates with MLW and AEW on occasion, but he’s not a full-time member of the AEW roster. As for who he could feud with, I think Lio versus Sammy Guevera could be interesting. Maybe Leo versus Griff Garrison or Brian Pillman Jr. could be good as well.

Are you a fan of Kenny Omega being a belt collector?

I have no problems with Omega doing his thing right now and holding titles in AEW, AAA, and Impact Wrestling. It’s a cool gimmick and way to make his character, even more, larger than life than usual. And whoever does end up beating him and taking away some of that gold is going to get a big rub and push as a result. So it’s all good in my eyes. I still think Omega is a dweeb, but I think this “collection gimmick” is good for AEW so no complaints, at least not at the moment.

Who has the best finisher in AEW?

Fuego Del Sol with the Tornado DDT. True, he hasn’t won any matches with it yet in AEW, but mark my words, his time is coming and he will. If you don’t believe me, ask me and I’ll tell you again. Feugo is a future star in the making and he’s going to be a big name one day.
