I almost forgot, but here it is. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Everybody seems to hate Jim Cornette… probably because he tells shit like it is and people don’t like when someone speaks his mind as he does.
Well I like him and his podcast is awesome I think. What are your thoughts on the Corny tennis racket guy?
I think Cornette is a great wrestling mind and, as you say, tells it like it is. I think Corny is a bit out there in terms of politics and religion, but few people know professional wrestling and what it used to be, and should be, than the former manager of the Midnight Express? Yeah, some of his ideas and criticisms of the current product are a little outdated and worrisome, but in terms of wrestling history and the magic that we all enjoyed back in the day, few know it better. Corny is the man, period.
Who is the best world champion in sports entertainment?
Of the current batch of sports entertainers who hold title belts and are recognized as “World Champions”, I’d say the best one right now is the current WWE Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
If WWE decides to bring in a celebrity at next year’s Wrestlemania, who would you like to see?
I’d want to see Cyndi Lauper so she can get her well-deserved position in the WWE Hall of Fame and so far as the show itself, how about former WCW World Champion David Arquette. I think Arquette has redeemed himself in the eyes of most wrestling fans and with his unique history, as well as status as a former WCW Champion, would make an excellent addition to the biggest show of the year.
1985 Dynamite Kid vs 2010 Daniel Bryan. Who wins?
This match would be epic in every sense of the word. As to who wins, I think my money would be on the former American Dragon, Bryan Danielson, aka Daniel Bryan.
Can you name ten wrestlers that kids today have never heard of?
Easily and I’ll even restrict myself to wrestlers that I had the chance to see live and in person. How about Dewey Robertson, Porkchop Cash, The Magic Dragon, Don Kernodle, Jim Nelson, Gene Anderson, Johnny Weaver, Coconut Willie, Strawberry Fields, Mark Starr, and Jay Youngblood.
Thoughts on Brock Anderson?
The son of “The Enforcer” Arn Anderson, Brock made his debut a couple of weeks ago on AEW Dynamite. And he looks good so far. It’s too early to be featuring him on television in a top spot, but he has potential and if I’m reading things correctly, I think when compared to other second-generation Horsemen, he’s more likely to be compared to Charlotte Flair or Tessa Blanchard than David Flair or Bryant Anderson. If AEW doesn’t screw it up, this kid should have a very bright future ahead of him.
Should AEW sign Fuego Del Sol to a full-time contract?
Due to the exposure given to him by the Sammy Guevera vlog, Fuego is one of the most popular wrestlers out there today not under contract to one of the major promotions. I think with AEW, it’s just a matter of time before the Master of the Tornado DDT is officially All-Elite. He’s pretty much already there, but they just need to make it official.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, questions, or thoughts you’d like to share, please feel free to drop me a line, and let’s chat. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
