WWE Money In The Bank 2021
Thoughts & Predictions

Later tonight on Peacock, pay-per-view, and the WWE Network, it’s WWE Money In The Bank. Are you ready for some predictions? Let’s do this.
WWE Smackdown Tag Team Championship Match
Rey & Dominik Mysterio (c) versus Jimmy & Jey Uso
If this was any other time, I’d immediately pick the Usos to dominate and win the titles, but with Jimmy’s recent arrest for DUI, I just can’t see WWE putting the straps back on Jimmy & Jey. That would be a public-relations disaster for WWE and I just can’t see it happening. Look for The Mysterios to retain their titles.
Winners and STILL Smackdown Tag Team Champions: Rey & Dominik Mysterio
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Ricochet versus John Morrison versus Riddle versus Drew McIntyre versus Big E versus Kevin Owens versus Shinsuke Nakamura versus Seth Rollins
I am very intrigued by this match because there are so many possibilities, none of who would be seen as an underdog if they were to win the Money In Bank contract. Well, let’s change that. Ricochet and Nakamura will not be winning and neither will Kevin Owens. Seth has already won the contract in the past and while that would make for some good TV, there’s a been there/done that feeling to having Seth win again. Everyone seems to be pulling for Big E to win, but unless they’re planning on having Kofi beat Lashley, I don’t really care for that idea too much. That leaves Drew McIntyre, Riddle, or John Morrison. Drew has been the top guy for the past two years and needs to be away from the title scene for a while so he’s out. Riddle or Morrison? I would like to see Riddle surprise everyone, but I think it’s time for Morrison to show he’s more than Miz’s sidekick.
Winner of the Money In The Bank Contract: John Morrison
Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Asuka versus Alexa Bliss versus Nikki A.S.H. versus Liv Morgan versus Zelina Vega versus Natalya versus Tamina
Let’s take out a few names right at the start. Asuka, Nikki, Liv, Natalya, and Tamina are all NOT going to win here. Asuka won last year and the rest, while they’re good, are not top ladies for WWE. So that leaves Alexa Bliss or the newly returned to WWE Zelina Vega. I would love to see Vega pull it out and win the briefcase, but I’ll go with Alexa. She’s a former Champion, a top name, and her character and gimmick seems the best suited to be stalking and going after a new toy, the RAW Women’s Championship. So there you go.
Winner Of The Money In The Bank Contract: Alexa Bliss
WWE Championship Match
Bobby Lashley (c) w/ MVP versus Kofi Kingston
Kofi is not going to win here. He’ll put up a good fight and it will be a good match, but the All-Mighty era still has a ways to go and isn’t going to end at least not until SummerSlam. This won’t be a squash, but the outcome is not in any doubt.
Winner and STILL WWE Champion: Bobby Lashley
WWE RAW Women’s Championship
Rhea Ripley (c) versus Charlotte Flair
To me, it’s too soon to take the title off of Ripley, but when Charlotte Flair is involved, the old saying that anything can happen has never been more true. This should be a damn good match, but I’d look for interference and maybe a distraction at the end to allow Rhea to get the win and retain her title, maybe from the MITB winner Alexa Bliss. This belt is staying with the champ.
Winner and STILL WWE RAW Women’s Champion: Rhea Ripley
WWE Universal Championship Match
Roman Reigns (c) w/ Paul Heyman versus Edge
This is the main event and rightfully so with Roman defending against Edge. Honestly, it could go either way. If Edge does manage to get a win, he won’t be champion for long, but it will make a great story for his return and legacy. It’s a tough call though because Roman is easily the best heel in WWE right now and shouldn’t lose the title anytime soon. I’m honestly conflicted here. Let’s flip a coin. Heads will be Edge and tails will be Roman since he’s being portrayed as such an ass. Heads have it so we get a new champion with the Rated R Superstar, Edge.
Winner and NEW WWE Universal Champion: Edge
WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match
AJ Styles & Omos (c) versus The Viking Raiders (Erik & Ivar)
And finally, we have a match for the RAW Tag Team Championship with the champions, AJ Styles and Omos defending against The Viking Raiders. I don’t like the characters of Erik & Ivar and they’re a bit too cartoony for my tastes, but I don’t think that AJ and Omos are doing anything for the RAW Tag Team belts, and having them as the champs is just a holding pattern because WWE doesn’t really have anything else for AJ to do. This will probably be on the Kickoff Show and what the hell. Let’s go for a title switch.
Winners and NEW RAW Tag Team Champions: Erik & Ivar, The Viking Raiders
And there you go with my predictions. So what are yours? Who do you think will walk out of the Money In The Bank event as the winners and losers? Let me know in the comments. And if you have any questions, thoughts, or comments, I’d love to hear those as well. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
