Are you ready to do that rasslin’ thing? It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. And guess what? It’s clobbering time! Let’s do this.
Fatal 5-Way Death Match: Chucky versus Jason versus Freddy Krueger versus Michael Myers versus Leatherface. Who survives?
Talk about a pier-six slobber knocker and plenty of crimson masks. This fight would definitely have it all. And I may be wrong, but I suspect we’d see a lot of foreign objects in play, kind of like a typical day at the ECW Arena. I love this question and considering that we’re just a couple of days away from Halloween, it’s the perfect time to ponder just who would slice and dice their way to horror glory in a fight like this. It wouldn’t be Krueger since he operates best when there’s some heavy sleeping and dream-time going on. Chucky depends more upon the element of surprise to do his murderous deeds so I don’t think the boy-toy of gore would have much of a chance here. Leatherface is okay, but he just seems like he’s out of place among all these heavy hitters, kind of like James Ellsworth fighting HHH, HBK, Ric Flair, Harley Race, and The Undertaker, so he’s out of contention as well. And that leaves Michael Myers and Jason. Halloween versus Friday The 13th. Myers is pretty damn good and I know that this is his day coming up on Sunday, but never count out a guy who wears a hockey mask and loves his mother. Jason wins.
Is Roman Reigns the biggest draw in pro wrestling today?
I haven’t seen the stats for WWE or AEW anytime recently, but based on perception alone, I would think so.
Would you like to see Brock Lesnar versus Bobby Lashley as part of Wrestlemania 38?
Considering both of their legit backgrounds and history, this match needs to happen, preferably sooner rather than later. Wrestlemania 38 would be a great time to see it happen.
Mick Foley has expressed interest in bringing back Cactus Jack to go against Matt Cardona as part of Game Changer Wrestling (GCW). Would you be interested in seeing this match happen?
While I wouldn’t mind seeing Mick dust off the old flannel shirt and make an appearance to perhaps antagonize and annoy Cardona, I have absolutely no desire to see Mick step foot in the ring again for any kind of physical confrontation or match, be it against Cardona or anyone. I could see Mick cutting a promo on Cardona and getting in his face as a means to introduce a different opponent for Cardona to actually wrestle, with Foley as this new person’s mentor or manager. That would be fun and could be interesting, but Cactus is retired from active wrestling and there’s a reason for that. His body is too messed up to wrestle. So to Cactus Jack returning for a match, I would say not only no, but hell no.
Thoughts on Ring Of Honor and the release of all talent?
I think this is a sad moment for professional wrestling and one that will change the landscape for the entire business. All of that great talent now out of work and available for hire will mean plenty of new faces in the companies that remain such as WWE, AEW, Impact, MLW, and New Japan. It makes me wonder too what Sinclair is planning to do to fill the void this leaves on their network and I wonder if the NWA, who has a home on YouTube, might be brought in to fill those programming slots. Right now, there are more questions than answers and it’s interesting to see how it all plays out. Maybe ROH will do a reboot of sorts and be back next year, stronger than ever. Or maybe this is goodbye forever? It’s a story in progress and something to keep an eye on as things develop.
Due to Triple H’s recent health issues, Shawn Michaels is now apparently in control of NXT. Thoughts?
If HHH can’t be there, it makes sense to have his partner-in-crime and most trusted associate there to step in and run things in his absence. Of course, we all know that Vince and Bruce Prichard are really the guys in control, and be it HBK or HHH, they’re just the figurehead leaders with Vince making all the real decisions. But to watch HHH’s spot while he’s not available, HBK is definitely the best person for the job.
With Survivor Series on the horizon, what would be your dream 5v5 match?
How about the current AAA Tag Team Champions FTR, formerly known as The Revival, teaming with The Midnight Express (Stan Lane, Bobby Eaton & Dennis Condrey) w/ Jim Cornette in their corner versus Bret Hart, The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) w/ Paul Ellering in their corner, and the team of Rick Steamboat & Jay Youngblood. You’d have the best tag teams of the ’80s and ’90s, the best tag team of today’s era, and Bret Hart, all in one elimination match, with Jim Cornette and Paul Ellering at ringside for a bonus. Admit it, that would be one hell of a match.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Any comments, thoughts, or questions, feel free to give me a shout, and let’s talk. Until the next time, take care of yourself and stay safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
