Tossing Salt Presents:
NXT 2.0 2022 New Year’s Evil
Thoughts & Predictions
January 4, 2022
Tonight, on the USA Network, the WWE and NXT 2.0 present the 2022 broadcast of New Year’s Evil. It’s not a pay-per-view, or as WWE calls them now, premium live event, but it’s a big show, packed head to toe, for the NXT 2.0 brand, and thus, I’m going to make a few predictions. So strap in and let’s get ready to break out the Crystal Ball. Let’s do this.
WWE NXT Champion Tommaso Ciampa vs. Bron Breaker II.
Ciampa has long been the face of NXT and is a great person to have and use as the face of the company, but Bron Breaker is a second-generation superstar, the nephew of a big bad Booty Daddy, and in many ways, a 2022 version of Brock, at least in my eyes. This kid is damn good and he knows it. WWE knows it too and he’s getting that Goldberg-style push to the moon and back. So title change or not? Well, a new year means a new beginning and I think we’ll see a new champion as well.
Winner and NEW NXT 2.0 Champion: Bron Breaker
WWE NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose vs. Raquel Gonzalez vs. Cora Jade – Triple Threat Match.
So long Mandy, it’s been a good run. ROse came from the main roster back to NXT to give her career a boost and has done just that. She’s hotter than ever right now. And while I’m not too familiar with Cora Jade, I think Raquel Gonzalez is on fire as well. She’s so hot, she can cook hot pockets just by holding them. I think we’ll see a title switch here.
Winner and NEW NXT Women’s Champion: Raquel Gonzalez
WWE NXT North American Champion Carmelo Hayes vs. WWE NXT Cruiserweight Champion Roderick Strong: Title vs. Title Unification match.
Two belts that mean little merged into one belt that might end up meaning something if we’re lucky. Hayes versus Strong should be a good match and may end up being the dark horse match of the night. Hayes is good, but Strong, he’s a bad man. I’m going with him.
Winner and NEW WWE NXT North American Cruiserweight Champion: Roderick Strong.
MSK & Riddle vs. Imperium – WALTER & Fabian Aicher & Marcel Barthel.
Never vote against WALTER. Oh yeah, the rest of Imperium are there too. As good as MSK is, and I love Riddle, but this match isn’t in doubt in any manner in my opinion. I’ve already told you.
Also scheduled is AJ Styles is planning to confront Grayson Waller, but given that AJ is fighting Omos tonight on RAW, he’ll have a ready-made excuse to be off his game and fall victim to a Grayson Waller attack. Some words, some fists, broken up until next week. Watch and see.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and stay good. I’ll see you at the matches.
