Yes, it’s another edition of the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. I got bored and had these questions sitting around so why the hell not? Are you ready? Let’s do this.
What do you think of Bray Wyatt debuting in AEW by reigniting the Dark Order split with the ones against Evil Uno joining the Cult of Windham?
Reigniting? Set the entire Dark Order on fire? Well, he does have a history of setting people on fire so it wouldn’t be out of character and it would make for a hell of a memorable debut. I think you mean reunite and that would be pretty cool. Whatever Bray decides to do and wherever he decides to do it, I’ll just be glad to see him back in action. And if he returns to take over the Dark Order in AEW, that’ll work for me.
Do you think Jade Cargill is a good wrestler now? Or do you think she still needs some work?
Jade has a good look and she’s okay in that ring. She’s sloppy though and needs a lot more work, but she’s better than she was and if she keeps working hard and putting in the time, she’ll get even better. I think she has a good future ahead of her.
Do you think that Big Swole has a point when she says that introverted wrestlers get less TV-Time when there are no writers and storylines are developed with the wrestlers themselves?
While her comments about the lack of diversity in AEW were foolish, not well thought out, and make her look like an idiot, this particular area of conversation makes sense. The quiet people don’t get noticed. It’s not just in wrestling, but in any job and most aspects of life. To be a professional wrestler, you have to have an ego anyhow and 99% of the people in that business are outgoing and tend to be extroverts. If all you do is sit in the corner and wait for someone to give you something without speaking up and making yourself be noticed, you’ll never be anyone or get anywhere. You can be the very best, but if you aren’t willing to sell yourself, why would anyone else take notice and do it? It’s not good, but it’s the way things are in wrestling and in life. And Swole wasn’t all that good as a wrestler anyhow so she’d have it twice as hard as most of the others. But the blame is hers that if she can’t do what’s required to get herself over with the one who does the booking, why should they bother with her at all? Simple. They shouldn’t.
WWE seems to be sabotaging itself while AEW seems to be thriving, is it possible that AEW could be the bigger promotion one day?
Anything is possible and you’re right that both companies are trending in opposite directions. AEW is getting better and WWE is very stale and complacent. If WWE doesn’t get their stuff together, it very well could happen that AEW takes over the #1 spot. And it wouldn’t surprise me at all.
If William Regal was to join AEW in a producer role, what are your thoughts of him taking over the runnings of Dark Elevation in order to train the up-and-coming signings, run their trial matches, etc?
William Regal would be a great addition to AEW if they were to sign him, both as an on-air talent and in training and teaching the younger talents how to improve and better their craft. I’m not sure how his booking skills are to run AEW’s B-shows, but there’s a solution for that as well. The Road Dogg was released from WWE yesterday too so bring him in too. He was not only a wrestler but on the Creative Team for Smackdown. Let Road Dogg book the B-shows while Regal runs things and helps with the training and setting up the matches. It wouldn’t take long for the YouTube shows to start being more popular than the main shows.Regal and Road Dogg could definitely do it.
Do you see Grayson Waller winning a title before the end of the year? Will he enter the Rumble? Will he be a main roster star by SummerSlam?
As part of the NXT 2.0 brand, I fully expect to see Grayson Waller wearing gold before this year is over. The first time I really ever paid this guy any attention was at the last War Games event and he really stood out and caught my eye, impressing me. Using Waller as a surprise in the Rumble would be fun to see and he’d do well in that role before being eliminated. As for coming to the main roster, he may end up there before the year ends, but before SummerSlam? I don’t think so.
Do you think Big E will still be involved in the major titles picture (and actually win) or will he be more of a one-and-done like Owens has been?
I think Big E will linger around the top of the card for a few more months, but eventually, will end up back with the New Day as part of the team before Wrestlemania. It’s a one-and-done for the former WWE Champion, at least in my opinion.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, stay safe and be good. I’ll see you at the matches.
