Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Kane, Rhea Ripley, 10 Years From Now & More
February 24, 2022
The Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
Do you think Kane would have gotten as over and lasted as long in WWF/E if he was never linked to the Undertaker?
Do you mean if he had continued as the Unibomber, Dr. Issac Yankum, or the fake Deisel? I think he would have been future-endeavored many years ago and only be remembered as a trivia question if the character of Kane and the link to the Undertaker hadn’t happened. It was the right role for the right person at the right time and Glenn Jacobs made the very best of it and the rest was history.
What do you think happens in wrestling in the next 10 years? Does AEW cement itself in the top spot? Does WWE collapse?
WWE will eventually be bought out by NBC Universal or Disney and will continue, albeit in a totally different fashion. AEW will continue as it has for a few more years, never quite making it to Number One, and then Tony Khan will get bored with his wrestling toys, go back to the football stuff, and AEW will either be sold to a new owner or fold.
Should R-Truth and Brock Lesnar form a tag team, and what should they be called?
A full-time regular tag team? Nah, that would get stale quickly, but for a one-shot appearance or partnership, it’d be fun to see happen. As for a team name, how about Beauty And The Beast.
Is Rhea Ripley the female Brock? I’d rather fight Brock than her.
If WWE would smarten up and use Rhea properly, then she could very well be the next Brock Lesnar, a dominating star for the Women’s Division. She has the credentials and the background to do so, but WWE just can’t seem to get behind her and push her correctly. And I agree. I’d rather fight Brock than her too.
Which would you rather see? Edge/Styles & Rollins/Rhodes or
Edge/Rrhodes & Rollins/Styles?
Of the two sets of matches offered, I’d go with Edge versus AJ Styles and Seth versus Cody. The other pairing, especially Seth and AJ, has a been there/done that feel to me.
Do you see John Cena as a fit in AEW?
Not really. John is a WWE creation, both heart and soul, and the AEW style and Cena just doesn’t sound right to me. Cena is bigger than AEW right now, especially given his success in Hollywood with Suicide Squad and Peacemaker.
What do you think about Ring of Honor’s inaugural Hall of Fame class?
Five great names and four excellent picks who truly do represent the history and are the heart and soul of ROH. The Briscoe Brothers, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, and Samoa Joe. They got it just right.
Do you think the Universal Championship is going to be phased out after Wrestlemania?
No, I do not. Vince likes two belts and Fox likes Smackdown having on their own champion. It will remain two belts and two champions in the long run. We may get one champion from Mania, but before long, there will be two again.
Now that Keith Lee is in AEW what do you think would be a better-booked match: Keith Lee vs Powerhouse Hobbs or Keith Lee vs. Miro?
Nothing against Hobbs, but he’s not that experienced yet and is a mid-card guy at best. Miro is a better wrestler, a top guy, and can match Lee move for move and power for power. Lee versus Miro is definitely the way for AEW to go.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have, use the comment box or drop me a line. All feedback is much appreciated. And with that, I’m out of here. Take care and be good, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
