More “Aw, hell’s” than Queen Sharmell after a few too many cocktails, it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

Thoughts on the Jericho Appreciation Society?

Chris Jericho reinvents himself again, with a heel turn, a new team, and some younger talents to give the rub too. I think this is cool. The Inner Circle had grown stale and the only member we were seeing regularly with any success was Sammy, who was more associated with the VLOG than anyone else. A change had to be made, and now we have Ortiz, Santana, and Kingston versus Jericho, the always faithful Jake Hager, 2point0, and Daniel Garcia. This should elevate 2point0 and Garcia up the roster, and gives Ortiz & Santana something to keep them relevant as well. I’m interested to see where this goes.

There are reports that WarnerMedia does not want The Briscoes in AEW. If you are Tony Khan, what do you do?

Well, you don’t bring the Briscoes into AEW. That’s for sure. But there is a little place called ROH that will need some top guys to help get it back going again and guess who owns ROH now? So I’d sign the Briscoes for ROH, to resume the roles they’ve played for the past several years, send FTR over there to do a big feud and blow-off, and then the Briscoes stay at ROH while FTR goes back to AEW.

Has AEW already booked Keith Lee into a mid-card role?

Lee has only had what, five matches so far in AEW? It’s impossible to say as of yet what his role will be, but he’s undefeated in singles matches, and the only loss was in a multi-man ladder match. I think he’s being kept strong and will be used as a top guy when the time is right. I see no reason to get worried yet.

Pete Dunne is now on the main roster… and they named him “Butch”. What the hell?

It’s Vince McMahon being Vince McMahon. I’m not sure if this is a rib or just McMahon skipping his meds and having a senior moment, but given the backlash, I don’t think it’s going to hurt the Bruiserweight very much. His character and reputation from NXT are strong enough that nobody will be giving that stupid nickname much thought.

Big E has a legit broken neck. What does his mean for his future? What about the New Day? Are they over?

For Big E, it means a lot of rehab, a lot of hard work, and several examinations to see if he’s ever able to wrestle again. If Bagwell and Steve Austin managed, I think Big E will as well. Best of luck to the man. As for the New Day, there are still two guys there with Kofi and Xavier so the team can continue, and if I was WWE, I’d have a “fill in” join to take Big E’s spot until he’s able to return. Shelton Benjamin comes to mind here and he could be a New Day guy until Big E is ready to come back. Then Shelton could turn on Xavier and Kofi and we could have a big Big E versus Shelton feud down the road. Regardless of how they handle this though, I don’t think the New Day is over with by any means.

I’m a big Charlotte fan. I think she’s the greatest women’s wrestler of all time. But every one of her storylines is just so boring. Is that more on her or is WWE just not trying to get depth and intriguing stories?

Charlotte can only do what WWE tells her and the stories they come up with for her to work, that’s all WWE and Vince. Charlotte shouldn’t be blamed for the bad booking and boring stories. She’s just doing what she’s told and what the boss (Vince) wants.

What if Cody leaving AEW makes -1 become the next MJF?

That would actually be a great story, to watch over the years as -1, Brodie Lee Jr., goes from being the awesome kid he is into a mini-me MJF, and then when he’s older and ready to really make an impact as a professional wrestler, he and Cody already have a story in place. Sounds good to me.

Joey Janela says that he won’t be staying with AEW when his contract expires in May. Thoughts?

What Joey means is that he doesn’t think AEW is going to renew his contract so he’s beating them to the punch and trying to save face. Janela has a great thing going now with his Spring Break event and GCW, so I don’t think an AEW contract is all that to him at the moment. He’s rarely used except for the occasional Dark match. I don’t think we’ve seen the last of Joey Janela in AEW, but he’s just ready to do his own thing right now. More power to him.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, stay good and be safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
