With a tear in my eye, it’s time to do, you know, the thing. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

Triple H announced his retirement yesterday. Thoughts?

It’s a sad day for WWE fans and wrestling fans in general. Like him or not, Triple H is one of the guys who gets it, who can always be counted on for a solid match, and making an impact. But medical issues have taken their toll and the Triple H main event will never happen again. It’s sad, and I feel for Hunter. I know what it’s like to have medical issues change your life forever and take away what you love the best. But Hunter is still alive and still has that wrestling mind, so I don’t think we’ve seen the last of the Cerebral Assassin. He just needs to take his time, recover as best he can, and spend time with the family, and when he’s ready to come back, albeit in a different role than The Game, do so and continue to make that impact and give us hope for the future of WWE. Get well soon, Hunter.

Did you see the tweet that Ryback put out about Triple H’s retirement? He called HHH a disappointment. Thoughts?

I saw it. Here’s the full quote from Dipshit’s Twitter Page. “You ended up being the biggest disappointment for me personally from loving you growing up, but I wish you well in retirement and future good health.” And my thoughts? Never meet your heroes or you’ll be let down. That part is true, especially when your hero is honest with you and lets you know that you’re not as good as you think you are. Dipshit is a douche and absolute prick. I don’t mind taking a shot at someone who deserves it, but there’s a time and place. This isn’t it. Hey Dipshit, screw you!

Am I the only one who sees what Mark Madden is doing with Ric Flair?

You mean leading Ric on with different topics designed to set him off, taking advantage of Ric’s tendency to talk without thinking and exploiting the hell out of him, and controlling the Nature Boy like a puppet-master with the reinforced strings, pretending to be Ric’s friend, but instead pushing Flair down farther and lower every week? Yeah, you’re the only one that sees that.

Cesaro has filed to trademark the name CSRO. Good idea or not?

Shades of Enzo Amore, what the hell is Cesaro doing? I can understand that he wants to remind everyone that he’s a former WWE star and all that, and the name does have a lot of goodwill with the fans, even though the WWE part might now, but he doesn’t need to do this. Look at Matt Cardona. He was Zack Ryder for over a decade, but he went out, took the goodwill that he had from fans as Ryder, starting using his real name, and he’s the hottest thing in wrestling right now. Cesaro was already established with ROH and in Europe as Claudio Castagnoli. He has name recognition in place and people know his face. Go back to what brought him to the table, and the fans will remember and know him and come. The name CSRO is just cheap, gimmicky, and scraping. Claudio can and should do better.

Allegedly, the WWE had plans for the NWO at Wrestlemania, but since Scott Hall passed away, apparently those plans have been canceled. Would you like to see WWE bring the NWO in for Mania?

I would love to see maybe a Ladder Match for the IC title dedicated to the memory of Scott Hall, to give Hall a mention and fitting tribute. And then have the NWO come out and say a word or two and present the title to the winner of the ladder match. It’d be short, just too sweet, and be a great way to honor the Bad Guy.

Did Vince McMahon make the right call at Survivor Series in Montreal?

I’m going to get heat for this, but in my opinion, yes, Vince did. It sucks that it had to come to that, but Bret was being a stubborn child by refusing to drop the title to Shawn because they were in Canada. Bret wasn’t being professional and they needed to get the belt off of him. And when one person isn’t willing to do their job, all bets are off afterward. I do get it that both groups were in the wrong with this and the Vince/HBK antics were low and wrong as hell, but if Bret hadn’t let his ego get in the way to start off with, there would have been a match, a title switch, and no one would remember a week later. Everyone could have shook hands and parted as friends or at least professionals. Desperate times call for desperate measures though, and well when Bret refused to drop the belt in Canada, the ball started rolling, shit happened, and we got what we got.

If Brock Lesnar, as in a real fight with Bill Goldberg, two of the toughest people in the world, who would get their respective b*tt kicked?

I have no doubt that Goldberg is a legit bad-ass and can fight, but against Brock Lesnar? With a background in amateur wrestling, MMA, UFC, and just being Brock, I have no doubt that it’d be a true Pier Six Brawl, and crimson would cover the walls and faces of both men, but when the smoke cleared, the man standing at the end would be the man we lovingly call “The Beast”, Brock Lesnar.

In their primes, Kurt Angle versus Bruno Sammartino. Who wins?

Are we talking about in the ring or in a real fight? Angle, with his legit background, is a wrestling machine. Bruno was not really a great technician, but with the strength and legit shoot background, he can really hurt a person pretty easily if he chooses. This is a tough one, but I think that the former two-time WWWF Champion, the original Living Legend, would take the win here. Kurt may have won an Olympic Gold Medal with a broken freakin’ neck, but Bruno was Bruno. ‘Nuff said! It’d be one hell of a fight, a great contrast in styles, and as close as close can be, but in the end, Bruno always wins.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions you may have are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and be safe. I’ll see you at the matches.
