Greetings my friends and welcome to the show. It’s the Q&A column that isn’t afraid of getting cut open the hard way. Nothing is sacred and no question is off-limits. It’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.

Who is/was the best Husband and Wife team in the WWE? Who was/is the most accomplished?

Let’s look at the options. Becky Lynch & Seth Rollins, Rusev & Lana, Marc Mero & Sable, Edge & Beth Phoenix, Jey Uso & Naomi, Miz & Maryse, Taker & Michelle McCool, Natalya & TJ Wilson, and as of a few days ago, Carmella & Corey Graves. All good, but rarely together in stories. The obvious choice here, for being the best and the most accomplished is pretty simple. Triple H & Stephanie are way beyond everyone else… period!

Since it hasn’t happened since both were on NXT, how long do you think it will be before Becky and Bayley have a feud?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen sooner rather than later. Becky versus Bayley at SummerSlam has a nice ring to it, don’t you think?

Impact Wrestling is going to be signing the Briscoes since AEW can’t. Thoughts?

I saw good for the Briscoes and for Impact Wrestling as well. Working for Impact, the Briscoes should still be able to work Indy shows and maybe Japan, and even the occasional crossover event with AEW/ROH, although not on AEW TV. It’s a big win for Impact as well since it gives them one of the best tag teams currently in wrestling for their roster. I’d say this is a win for all parties involved.

Omos is with MVP now. Good move or not?

Actually, this is a very good move. MVP is a good talker and a classic-style wrestling manager. Omos is big, but he can’t talk, his in-ring skills are limited, and all he really has going for him is that he’s big. MVP will make the difference on everything aside from the actual wrestling. It’s a classic method to protect the wrestlers who are limited and in Omos’s case, it’s very much needed.

Your thoughts on Jim Cornette?

A true wrestling historian and student of the game, one of the best managers and wrestling personalities of all time, and one of the few podcasts that I actually listen to regularly. I don’t agree with Jim on politics or religion, but the man knows his professional wrestling and why things should and should not be done in a certain manner. He’s a little old-fashioned on some things, but he’s right far more often than he’s wrong and both AEW and WWE would do well to listen more to what Corny has to say.

Your thoughts on Nature Boy Ric Flair?

A wrestling legend and one of the all-time greatest professional wrestlers of all time, in the ring. Outside of the ring, I find him overbearing, shallow, condescending, and pretty much delusional. He’ll do or say anything for a buck and throw anyone under the bus to make himself look better. I’ll always enjoy his matches and promos from when he was an active wrestler, but the more I see and hear about him now, I just wish he’d retire and call it a day and just go away.

I was wondering how you feel about the latest Tammy Sytch situation?

Not surprised or shocked, but kind of sad that Tammy seems determined not only to destroy herself but has now apparently killed an innocent person with her stupidity as well. She’s been in and out of jail and court, yet continues to live a self-destructive life, and to hell with the consequences. The very best thing that could happen to her now at this point is to just lock her up for about twenty-five years and forget about her. Otherwise, this shit will continue, and the next headline we see will be Tammy Sytch Dead! She’s just a sad character who has wasted and thrown her life away for the past few years when she could have had it all, but she continues to burn bridges, indulge her demons, and now someone has died as a result. It should never have gotten this far. It’s just damn sad!

I might be overthinking this but I was thinking…do you think WWE was mocking AEW’s hardcore/extreme matches with the Knoxville/Sami match at WrestleMania?

No, not at all. They were having a match styled for comedy and to what the Jackass Franchise is all about. WWE was being exactly what you’d expect when you mix WWE and Jackass together. You’re definitely overthinking it.

The question I have is what happened to some of the wrestlers that AEW made a big deal of signing after they left WWE? I know they have done good with some of them, but Ruby Soho and Miro have had almost nothing. This is why I hope Cesaro doesn’t go over because we don’t know if he will get the Mox/Jericho treatment, or the Ruby/Miro treatment.

They got lost in the shuffle, which is what happens when a company hires too many people and doesn’t have the TV time or run house shows often enough to use them all. Too many people mean too much confusion and people get buried, deserving or not. With Tony Khan buying ROH, that might help alleviate some of the problems. We’ll just have to wait and see.

Who goes from AEW back to WWE next?

Chris Jericho, Vickie Guerrero, and The Big Show for those coveted spots in the WWE Hall of Fame are the most likely suspects. Brian Pillman Jr., Griff Garrison & Ricky Starks are possibilities as well.

And there you go. My thanks for reading. Questions, comments, and other thoughts are welcome and appreciated. And if you’d like to see this column, The Ultimate Wrestling Q&A, as part of your website or wrestling group, give me a shout at my e-mail of Doug28352@yahoo.com and we can definitely make it happen.

And with that, I’m out of here. It’s time for breakfast, for working on an X-Men/Marvel fanfic that I’ve started on, and time to go to Twitter (@Doug28352) so I can piss some people off. Take care and be good and I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
