The new Head of the Table for Wrestling Q&As, it’s the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Acknowledge me! Or not, it’s all good. Let’s get busy and answer a few questions about the world’s greatest entertainment. Let’s do this.
A Happy Birthday shout-out to my former Wrestling Fact or Fiction Tag Team Partner from the Wrestle-Zone.co.UK days, Mr. Russell Jackson. An awesome dude and the best collaborator a guy can have. Happy Birthday Russ. Love ya, bro!
American Males (Scotty Riggs & Marcus Bagwell) versus Varsity Blondes (Brian Pillman Jr. & Griff Garrison). Who wins?
I’m a big fan of Brian Pillman Jr. and Griff Garrison and these two guys are very talented and will be big stars in the years to come, so keep an eye on them. The American Males, Buff & Riggs, I have to admit that I didn’t appreciate them much when I was younger, but going back now to watch their matches from classic WCW, these guys are good. Damn good! And then when you factor in that Scotty Riggs used to read my stuff when I had the Fantasy NWA/WCW back in the nineties on MySpace, and that Buff has really made Twitter fun again and has been awesome to interact with, well, I gotta go with The American Males on this one. It’d be one hell of a match and fun to see, but when the smoke clears, it would be Riggs & Buff taking that trip to the pay window, if you will.
WWE released ten talents yesterday from NXT. There are rumors that there will be some releases from the main roster too. If this happens, who do you think will be getting pink-slipped?
Some of the releases from NXT have me shaking my head, but it’s the WWE and unfortunately, this happens now all too frequently. If the cuts are extended to the main roster, I think the main people who have to worry the most are Finn Balor, Apollo Crews, Nikki A.S.H., Doudrop, Shelton Benjamin, Commander Azeez, Robert Roode, Shanky, and Shinsuke Nakamura.
I see The Briscoes are now in Impact Wrestling. Is my hope they will end up in AEW dead?
From what I understand, the Briscoes are not working under a contract with Impact, and thus, they are still technically free agents. With that in mind, they could very easily end up in AEW, but given the heat and rumors that Warner Bros/TBS management doesn’t want them there, that’s still unlikely. If Tony Khan can secure a TV deal for ROH, apart from the Warner/AEW deals, most likely that is where they’ll end up. With the Briscoes, all that is certain is that nothing is certain.
Did you see the tweet by Ryback about Vince McMahon and his Mom? It says, “Vince McMahon like most promoters has an insatiable urge to have control. He had no control watching his Mom get beat up as a child, which is a horrendous thing for a kid to witness, as their whore mom tries to make ends meet. Vince has failed to evolve. Fuck you old man! Thoughts?
My thoughts: Ryback is an absolute piece of shit, desperate for attention and trying to remain relevant. He’s obnoxious and not worth the attention we occasionally give him. He talks so much shit, but if Johnny Ace called him up tomorrow and offered him a WWE contract to clean the bathrooms at WWE HQ, he’d be back there in a second. I know it and so does everyone else. He’s a dipshit, period. ‘Nuff said!
Who’s a bigger piece of shit? Ryback or Hannibal?
This is a tough call because both have done things, said things, and are generally just two examples of walking pieces of excrement, desperate for attention and trying so hard to pretend they’re relevant. Ryback is a has-been and Hannibal is a never-was and between the two of them, not a drop of credibility, character, or anything good. So who’s worse? The dumb one. And there you go.
Who would you say has had the lamest title run in WWF/E history?
The lamest run as the WWE Champion? Any of the one-day runs would qualify in my opinion. Take your pick. And if you’re going on longer runs where they tried to get over, but just bombed with the fans, I’ll go to the Great Khali and his times with the WWE title in his grasp. Just damn bad!
So Hook & Danhausen are having issues. Will this lead to a Hook versus Danhausen match OR will it lead to a tag team of the two men?
We may see a match announced and promoted, but my gut says that the match will never happen. Expect the debut and tag team of HookHausen, coming soon to an AEW event near you. It’s going to happen. Watch and see.
Do you see CM Punk turning heel if he wins the title off of Page? Or do you see a sort of very respectful rivalry?
I don’t think Punk will go full heel, but I do expect he’ll get a bit more snarky and cutting with his words, promos, and actions once that AEW belt is firmly in his grasp. Fans are going to pop and cheer for Punk at this point regardless of whatever he does, so I don’t think a full heel turn is even possible. Well, maybe if he tried to kill Sting or something, but Page isn’t over enough to cause fans to hate Punk. They’ll end up with a respectful rivalry.
What companies do you want to see the latest releases showing up in?
The talents released were Dakota Kai, Malcolm Bivens, Dexter Lumis, Persia Pirotta, Harland, Paige Prinzivalli/Blair Baldwin (referee), Draco Anthony, Mila Malani, Sanjana George, and Raelyn Divine. The majority of these talents will end up working the Indy scene. Dakota Kai will, if we’re lucky, end up in AEW to help build their faltering Women’s Division. Of these talents, I don’t think we’ll be hearing too much from any of them again. Change that. Dexter Lumis, we’ll be seeing again and AEW should snap him up as soon as possible. The rest of them, not so much.
Do you think the stuff with Drew Gullak is leading anywhere since they keep using him over the usual nameless indie or Performance Center guy?
I hope so. Drew is too good on the mic and in the ring to be wasted in the role of announcer/flunkie, etc. We’ll just have to watch and see.
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and be safe, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
