Tossing Salt Presents:
Ultimate Wrestling Q&A
Austin Theory, Gangrel, Dakota Kai & More
May 2, 2022
Saying more prayers and taking more vitamins than the Hulkster ever dreamed of, it’s time for the Ultimate Wrestling Q&A. Let’s do this.
What do you personally think that Vince McMahon sees in Austin Theory? He’s not insanely tall, his muscles aren’t gigantic, and he has a face you just want to punch. What about him is screaming “top guy” to Vince because I just can’t figure it out?
I think Vince sees a potential Eddie Guerrero 2.0. Theory, and Sammy Guevera too over at AEW, have that look, a cocky persona, a punchable face, and they can work and talk. Theory has that “it factor” going really hard and he’s the type of wrestler you can’t ignore. You either like him or hate him and there’s not much room for any gray area. I agree with Vince that Theory has a big upside and can be a major star for the WWE. You may not get it yet, but just keep watching and sooner or later, you will.
Do you think AEW will ever introduce trio titles? If so who would you want to be the inaugural champions?
It’s just a matter of time before it happens and as to who should be the first set of Trios Champion, how about Billy Gunn & his Ass Boy sons. Works for me.
If Wardlow was ever courted over to the Fed, any wild guesses at his new ring name?
I’m sure it would be something incredibly dumb and insulting to the fans. Let’s go with Colossus Johnson.
Is Dakota Kai another missed opportunity for WWE Creative and what would you like to see her do next? AEW? Impact? Indies?
WWE definitely dropped the ball here in my opinion. Kai is very good and was ready to come up to the main roster, where she could be misused and forgotten. See Shotzi as a perfect example. But WWE’s loss will be another companies gain. I hope we see her move to AEW, where they need some top females to augment their Women’s Roster. So my guess is that she’ll be walking through that Forbidden Door and part of AEW before all is said and done.
Should Britt Baker be Jade’s next opponent? They’ve been teasing it. Since Britt is always taking the occasional at her despite both being heels.
Britt Baker versus Jade? Sounds good to me. Book it, Tony Khan.
What exactly was The Rock cooking?
He was probably baking a pie. I’ve heard him say many times that The Rock likes pie.
Should Greg Valentine have had a run with either the NWA or WWF Championships? Why was he never a world champion?
Greg was a great wrestler and is a true legend in every sense of the word, but he was not flashy or exciting. He was slow, methodical, and didn’t vary his style much, regardless of his opponent. He was just a tough guy who would barrel straight ahead. A world champion needed to be able to adapt his style to anyone, and Greg didn’t seem to do that in my opinion. Plus he was not an exciting talker or promo. A champion needs to be able to talk fans into the arena and while fans loved to see Greg get his ass kicked, be charismatic was not his strong point.
Gangrel expressed interest in a recent interview about being part of Edge’s faction in WWE. Should Edge and WWE bring in Gangrel as part of their group?
Gangrel as the James J. Dillon of Edge’s group of Dark Horsemen? That sounds pretty awesome to me and I’d like to see it.
LA Knight has been used lately by WWE/NXT as a manager? Why isn’t he still wrestling? Do you think he’ll make a good manager? Who would you like to see him manage?
Why Knight is not wrestling, I have no idea. Maybe it’s an injury or maybe he’s pissed someone off, but Knight is a good wrestler and I’d like to see him do more in the ring. I do think he’d be a good manager. He has the look and attitude and ability to talk, so maybe this is a good career move for him. We’ll have to wait and see. As for who I’d like to see him manage, how about Angel Garza & Austin Theory? Zelina did a great job as their manager and they were over, and I think Knight could get them over even more. Madcap Moss, upon his return from injury, would be good too.
Kurt Angle was recently quoted as saying that Chris Jericho has surpassed Shawn Michaels as the Greatest of All Time. Thoughts?
Is Jericho the greatest of all time? He’s managed to constantly reinvent himself and stay relevant and he’s definitley an iconic wrestling legend in every sense of the word. But better than HBK? In the ring, HBK was and remained the better performer. So far as promos and staying relevant, I think Jericho is the better talent. And greatest of all time? Neither man ever held six-titles at one time like the current NWA Champion Matt Cardona. so based on titles alone, Cardona is better… period!
And there you go. My thanks for reading. Comments, thoughts, and any questions are welcome and appreciated. Until the next time, take care and be good, my friends. I’ll see you at the matches.
