WWE will present their 2022 Wrestlemania Backlash PPV this Sunday. Here are my thoughts and predictions as to how everything should go down.

Undisputed WWE & Universal Champion Roman Reigns & WWE Smackdown Tag Team Champions The Usos vs. Drew McIntyre & WWE Raw Tag Team Champions RK-Bro

Originally, this was going to be a tag match to unify the RAW and Smackdown Tag Team Titles, and most likely a separate match for Roman to defend his titles, but for some reason, WWE decided that a non-title six-man match would be better. What the hell is WWE thinking? My guess is that Drew pins Roman to set up a future title shot, or hell, maybe Randy pins Roman for the same reason. Regardless of who gets the pin, I’m thinking the match results will be the same.

Winners: Drew McIntyre & RK-Bro

I Quit Match: WWE Smackdown Women’s Champion Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey

Is everyone else as bored with this match as I am? I’m looking for shenanigans to take place and maybe a referee bump or two to take place as well. Ronda isn’t going to say the words, “I Quit”, so what I expect to happen is the ref gets bumped, Ronda locks Charlotte in the submission move, and to get his payback from the ass-kicking Charlotte gave him a few weeks ago, Drew Gulak comes out with the mic to hear Charlotte say those magic words.

Winner and NEW Smackdown Women’s Champion: Ronda Rousey

Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins

A great match, with lots of action, lots of near falls, and a few “this is awesome” chants for good measure. And Cody proves that’ he truly is Seth’s own personal Freddy Krueger as he welcomes Seth to his own personal American Nightmare and walks out with the big “W”, taking that trip to the pay window.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

AJ Styles vs. Edge, with Damian Priest banned from ringside.

A classic match to be sure, but the thing to watch is that Damian Priest is banned from ringside. Since Priest can’t be there, this is when we see the new member of Edge’s secret society make their debut. Will it be Tomasso Ciampa? Will it be Rhea Ripley? Will it be Finn Balor? Will it be Bo Dallas? Hell, it’s the WWE and anything is possible, right? But while AJ puts out a great effort and looks ready to win, this unknown third person will interfere and Edge will find a way to steal a win.

Winner: Edge

Madcap Moss vs. Happy Corbin.

Moss wins and Happy Corbin becomes a sad panda. There is no other way for this to go.

Winner: Madcap Moss

Bobby Lashley vs Omos, with MVP

There is no way that Omos should win, but this is WWE and now that Omos has MVP with him as a manager, one never knows. If this feud is to continue, which I hope it doesn’t, but it probably will, we’ll see some hijinx and shenanigans from MVP, thus allowing the big guy who shouldn’t win to come out on top and get the big “W”. Lashley deserves better, but as I said earlier, this is the WWE and if wrestlers got what they deserved, Butch would have his old name still and WALTER would be fighting Roman for the Universal Title right now. Oy vey! Look for the big guy to win.

Winner: Omos

So there you go, my predictions. Am I right? Am I wrong? Let me know in the comments, along with any other questions or thoughts that you may have. And with that, I’m out of here. Until the next time, take care and be good. I’ll see you at the matches.

Ubuntu!
